Wayne Carey has shelved plans to transfer his nipple gripple technique to the field following the suspension of John Hopoate in the NRL.

Carey said the fact that Hopoate was suspended for 12 weeks for employing his proctology hobby on the arena brought home to him the fact that maybe his well developed skill of giving someone's nipple a tweak does not belong on football field and should stay as his hobby.

He said he had thought about employing it in a game for some time but the only problem was the nipples on the ground would be harder to gripple than the nipples his used to grippling off the ground. His wife vouched for this fact. So did his victim for which he was convicted.
