how could anyone be labelled a money man if they go to a different club for a substancel lesser amount?
Generaly players getting paid that have some sort of loyalty would give at least two years service to a club. Good luck to him tho if he wants to have a crack at a better standard of footy.I think also you'll find he went to stawell for a considerably smaller amount because stawell have used up all of there money.....
Very true about the loyalty part, you would think that someone getting paid a substantial amount would give at least 2 years service to a club, however..........
I believe he is rumoured to be on $150/200 a game plus incentives with it being reviewed after round 6!! As for playing a better standard of footy, yes it is but not by much nowadays. The Wimmera league is IMO at the lowest standard it has been for many of years. I cant see this being much of an achievement to say, "I played in the Wimmera League" BIG Fu@#EN DEAL!!
There aint much loyalty around in football these days!!
If only he would have a look at Great Westerns Dale Hurley, he is what the word loyalty is all about!!

I agree with you Mightyroar. All the trouble you went to to get Meggs to the Western and then he turns around and nicks off to Stawell! As I said " No money man signs for 2 years"
Spot on ther mighty roar,tipifies what sort of a bloke he is...bleeds a club then moves on are well....im not wishin good luck to him hope he breaks down...
I heard a little whisper that the Western didn't make Shane and his family super welcome. Perhaps the club needs to take some responsibility for his move.
He had no heart when he played over our way, Just another big bloke with potential.

Ya just makin crap up to degrade the club. He was made very welcome at Great Western and he will be welcome back at any time. He put a lot of work and effort into the club this year, he was at every function and helped to organise most of them. To say he wasn't made welcome at the club is a pathetic effort to put the club down as they are well known as a family club and welcome anyone to the club.
I don't know about Stawells social side but they would have to be bloody good to better Great Westerns social scene. And anyone who knows Meggsy will know that he loves a beer and Bourban.

Well thats a very strong posting their from the Boobluvva and very much spot on too I must say!! However I have spoken to Boobluvva Wonker, and have informed him of who you are and where your info would have come from and he apologises for directing this stinging attack at you as he was not aware previously!!
Shane could not possible feel that he was not made super welcome by the club as right from the start they welcomed him with open arms and would do so again!! I have never seen a player like megs fit into a club like he did and get along so well with everyone!! Lets see how welcome he is at Stawell the first time he shits himself at a club function or does something you would only dream about doing on a footy trip, as we all know that the Stawell Warriors heads are stuck so far up their ass....
!!As for Shanes Family, I dont know how anyone could possible say that they were not made to feel welcome at the club, cause as Boobluvva said, we are a family club and welcome all that want to play with the lions!!

Look out........come in spinner!! Hey, I dont think you'll find any chip on my shoulder there pretzel but more to the point it looks like its hit a soft spot with you!! You cant honestly say that the WFl is a very high standard of football at the moment, cause after all it is a Major League.......yeah right!! I have never ever said that the HDFL sides are better than the WFL sides, just the fact that the WFL isnt as higher standard of football at present as what it should be for a Major League!! Although I will go as far as say that the top 2-3 sides in the HDFL would be very competitive in the WFL at present and would probably beat half the sides!! Boobluvva mentioned that the social side of things at Great Western would be better than that of Stawell and I would agree with him, so if you want to point out what chip I've got on my shoulder or even pop around and add your own chicken salt to it then go right ahead buddy!!

played for laharum in a back pocket i think , prob wasn,t in there top 10-12 but not afraid to get in there ! saw him get split open one game against harrow was maybe a little to ambitious

Yes, i heard this today at work! If its true i don't know. Also heard Edenhope/Apsley were talking to Robbie Fry! Why the f*** would they do that? I play for them and am disapointed if they are after him, there are better footballers than him going around. Although i have never seen a straighter kick for goal than him.
