I am far from an expert, but I wouldn't be surprised if the first, longer fire was suppressing, and the second, shorter burst ended his life.

Why not! Obviously the campaigner wasn't negotiating!
:drunk:

'Why not!' is not really the kind of thing police do.

Police had lowered their weapons

The terrorist is either dead or in custody

Judging by the amount of shots fired I think he is dead
he's dead, but what i'm confused was the second lobby of rounds. they were dragging people out it seemed over then up again.

Makes you think why'd they go in guns blazing when the guy apparently had a bomb in his bag?

Maybe one of the hostages that came out just before they went it said it was a fake or something?

Yeah, that's what's really getting to me. I've seen plenty of footage of stuff like this in other countries, but it hits harder when you're seeing it in your own backyard.
Yeah, I mean I've seen many videos from Israel etc. with realistically worse... But something about it being a place you actually know, from your own Country...

I meant it didn't seem calm and collected. Surely it didn't require that many shots to take him down.
They'd most likely reached a point where the hostages lives were in immediate danger. There's a bomb robot going in and a person clad in bomb disposal attire, so there's was evidently suspicion that he had a bomb. Therefore, they had to ensure he was put down. They are trained to ensure the target is taken down.

Police have been gathering intelligence for over 12 hours now

And have over 6 Hostages they could interview

They would know everything before they went in, stupid to even think otherwise
