This will surely end soon. If it's just the one guy, he will need shut eye sooner or later

Pretty amateur move by this so called terrorist if he has gone in on his own and has no backup. He will have gained absolutely nothing from this other then being seen as an absolute dickhead in front of the world

Seriously hope they get to him before he injures or kills any of the hostages.
Needing sleep makes it more dangerous; he could make poor decision, or realise he's in a worsening position and decide he needs to act.

He's already gained something, global publicity, fear, shutting down our biggest city. Unfortunately, if there is no way out for him, then there is a chance he'll decide to go for maximum impact before he goes down.

It's not good.

I hope to CHRIST they can talk him down, but I'm not hopeful. If it goes to shit, I hope they can take him down immediately. And let's just hope the reports of him having two accomplices are incorrect.

There's probably a good reason for it, but try as I might, I cannot imagine why police refuse to divulge how many hostages are inside the café. How can that possibly alter anything apart from how they deal with getting them out? Any theories?
well for all we know the cops have eyes in the room and dont want to tip off they have more info then he's aware.
they may also be unsure how many are inside and don't want to give false information.

surrender, some of those cops have been training for years to go rambo and this is their first and possibly only chance.
hasn't killed anyone.........say you had a mental break and hope for 10-12 year sentence.

of course i'm sane and don't want to die.
10-12 years for about 20 counts of taking hostages with a shotgun plus terrorism charges

Tell 'im he's dreamin'

Yeah, the biggest worry is that he decides to go out in a blaze of glory because the authorities declined all of his demands. It's really his only option if he wants to make a statement.

In saying that, the tactical response team would have tracking on him at all times, especially with the technology advance they have with working in the dark. A gun shot goes off in the cafe, he's down before he can cock back that shotty for a second shot.

Has it been confirmed whether the 5 people that got out where released by the guy or they escaped?

f**king ballsy move if they escaped and amazing that he hasn't done something outrageous like killing or injuring someone as a statement that he isn't messing around.

This guy seems weak

I love it how media are saying "this is not yet an act of terror". Clearly the police are working with the media to try and trick the, erm, terrorist, into thinking he can get away without being charged with terrorism charges.

campaigner is going to get waterboarded fo' real.

Nah, waterboarding is too lenient, he needs to listen to Nicki Minaj on a loop.
