Im not going to read 30 odd pages but can anyone fill me on whether they've confirmed there are multiple gunmen? Seems crazy that one guy could pull off a 12 odd hour hostage situation (unless he's got a bomb in his backpack)?

1. Bomb in backpack - possible but unlikely. He would have detonated by now. Maybe he was going somewhere else and was going to leave the bag and his mate had the detonator? Again, possible but unlikely

2. Other bombs elsewhere. We can pretty much rule this out. Would have happened in the first few hours when there was maximum distraction and maximum deployment of resources.
Thanks expert.

In fairness they've been doing it all day (without the googles, coz it was daytime)
and that's kinda the point. they group up look ready to go................ then do nothing, this way if the guy has eyes on them he becomes accustom to them being there and lets his guard down. it also keeps the tac teams blood pumping and keeps them energised. they also rotate positions and personal so they all have an eyes on view of the breach point (walking through the door is the most dangerous part of the breach for a cop)

he has a pump action shotgun ffs

only one person can die if they are quick
And if he has a bomb?

If there is more than one of them?

The safe move is to try and talk him down with zero casualties.

If they can't, then you'd expect them to go in - but it'd be incredibly lucky if there weren't casualties if that were to occur.

But where do we stop, how much does he ask for? He has the upper hand here, he doesn't seem the friendly type so I doubt he will give us a decent deal

The thing is, if it takes already 10 hours and nothing has happened to take this Terrorist down :

What happens when there are 6 simultaneous explosions, plane hijackings, multiple terrorists and Anthrax being mailed all over Australia?!

They should've already shot the guy and released all the Hostages, 2 hours ago!

Like they do in Israel every few months...

Is this the best that Counter-terrorism police in Australia can do?!
They seem to be a little too worried about what the Muslim extremists would think of us if we did that. God only knows why we should care what they think.

Thanks for the insight

Happy to look like an idiot, but I've always wondered in this situation why there isn't some sort of gas/anaesthesia product than can be pumped into a room/building that just puts everyone's lights out.

They all wake up half an hour later with bad guy in handcuffs.

Just seems like something science could do.

They've set up a free phone line:

1800227228

I just called it and got transferred to an INDIAN!

Call it and tell me if you get an Aussie?
So you called it, taking up the person on the others ends time while someone who has a loved one in the situation might be trying to get through? Good one dickhead!!!
