OK, Im having a dozen or so mates around on December 2nd for the Danny Green v Roy Jones Jr fight. Its $50(?) on Main Event and thinking everyone will pay $10, to cover costs of watching it and Pizza aswell.

Does anyone have any tips to make the night better (please answer properly) and I am also looking for an information page, as to what time the fight starts and the undercard etc.

Thanks.

stripper, booze, food, dvds of fights to watch before the boxing, invite someone who will get too drunk and start a fight.

You cheap bastard, you are inviting 12 of your mates around to watch TV with you & you want to charge them?

How about when you order pizzas, you ask them all to chip in.

Pay-per-view, idiot.

Why is it fair for the bloke who already splashes out on Foxtel every month to let his house get trashed by his drunken mates, and then has to pay another $50 for the fight. You would be a cheap prick and a shit mate if you didn't pay the $10.

When Green fought Mundine a few years back I had a bunch of guys over my house to watch it. Everyone chipped in $5 to cover the cost of the PPV and we set up two BBQ's outside and everyone just brought whatever they wanted to cook for dinner. There will probably be a whole heap of prelim fights. I think the telecast started at like 5pm or something and Green & Mundine didn't start until 9pm.

It was good too that all of us were going for Green because we hate Mundine but it wasn't good at the end when Mundine won.:(

But we all had a good night and watched some good fights, had good food and good convo and laughs and whatever. Should be good even if you just keep it simple.

Make your own boxing ring, invite ChiWowWow's dad and between each round you could have turns giving it to him in the ring. :o

hate to admit but i agree. you provide the show and they buy the food and refreshments. make it byo, that way you know they will bring something. if they are mates, they won't have a problem chipping in and will show some respect for your place.
the main event will only go for 10 minutes anyway after jones put green on his arse, if mundine knocked him out, imagine what this one's going to turn out like.

You idiot. Mundine won on points. He would never knock Green out-hasn't got the power. Mundine's strengths are speed, and endurance. Green is a power athlete. And he's fighting at a higher weight, so he isn't at about 2-3% body fat.

Jones will still win.

If you've got iq with your foxtel keep an eye out on Friday nights I think on ESPN. They have classic boxing. You could record a few of them and watch pre main event.

**** off clown, my mistake so no need for this. mundine kicked his arse anyway.
lol at all the excuses green's supporters make for him. i'm not a mundine fan, think he's a good boxer thats had some easy fights over the last 2 years and needs to be tested again.
either way, green will get his arse handed to him by one of the best ever.

How is it diefferent to any other party?

To celebrate my 21st I need to provide people with drinks, there is little difference.

You provide a party, you provide the entertainment, you foot the bill. That's the way it goes.

Some advice... don't get any footage of classic fights to watch before Green v RJJ or you'll all be sadly disappointed by the fight :P

Fight Night Round 4 on the PS3/XBOX 360 is good for getting everyone in the mood.

Provide some decent beer. (Becks/Heinkiken etc) they can BYO anything else they want to drink.

Hire one of those BBQ's that you can spit roast a couple of decent meats on. Meat is essential if there's going to be fighting and beer.

Uno or Connect Four. For when everyone is bored with watching the undercard.

They had the Rumble in the Jungle on last Friday. Was great seeing Ali and Foreman go at it.

Are you serious? $10 each? So you expect to make a profit for having mates round your place?

Unbelievable isn't it? He has to pay for it if he wants to watch it anyway, so thinks I know how to not have to pay for it, invite 12 mates around & make them pay so I can watch my TV.

You running a business or something? Just put the TV on and have a BBQ and Ice tub ready.

Tell your mates to bring whatever they want. Surely 12 guys don't need "rousing" up before a boxing match? Maybe a PS3 game if they are that age of just stock up beers and have a few fights on before hand. It's not rocket surgery.

you guys all go **** yourselves. I'm 16 and not made of money and parents will be interstate.

Thinking of asking them paying $5 to towards the whole night, to go towards the PPV and food.

So you have gone from charging your mates $10 to $5, give it a week & you will be asking your friends around & asking them to bring their owm booze only.

OH wait, just saw you are only 16 & living at home, so your parents are paying for it not you.

Are you serious mantis?

Maybe he's looking to recoup $5 off each of his friends so he can give $50 to his parents when the bill comes... so they aren't paying for it.

Also maybe none of his mates have foxtel at home and are all keen to watch the fight, should he have to shout $50 (probably 5hrs work for him) as well as buy the food and drinks, just because he happens to have foxtel or his parents will be away so the boys can have a few beers in peace?

12*10=$120, if everyone pays $10 he can buy the fight, a slab of beer a couple of pizza's and a few snacks.. he's hardly making a profit.

Give the kid a break.

Enjoy the fight
