i think drumming song is starting to look good as one of those late season bolters into the top 10... adding to that, florence and the machine have been huge this year but i think this song is likely to get a lot more votes than dog days or kiss with a fist.

sundown syndrome by tame impala
Do they have a new EP?

Anyway, this is roughly what my votes will be like at this stage

Passion Pit - Sleepyhead
Phoenix - Lisztomania
Phoenix - 1901
Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks
Animal Collective - My Girls
Dinosaur Jr. - Over It
Kasabian - Underdog/Where did all the love go?
Kid Cudi - Day 'N' Nite (Crookers Remix)
Arctic Monkeys - My Propeller/Cornerstone
Sunset Rubdown -You Go On Ahead (Trumpet Trumpet II)

Been some good music from Grizzly Bear, Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, Bat For Lashes, Doves and Phoenix, but like most years you'll only get a smattering of the good stuff, a whole bunch of barely passable Aussie stuff and some rubbish like Muse's latest album that you end up barracking against (ironically I barracked for Muse to beat Silverchair in 07!).

Still, it's always been what it is, and you should just crank it up with the assistance of a few brews.

British India - Vanilla
Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man
Paul Dempsey - Ramona was a Waitress
Yves Klein Blue - Make up your mind
Vampire Weekend - Horchata
Bluejuice - Head of the Hawk
Kasabian - Underdog
Arctic Monkeys - My Propellor
Animal Collective - My girls
Let me out - Jet

My top 10 so far.

Phoenix - Lisztomania to take it out I rekon

Lizstomania, just isn't commerical enough to be number one. Will get plenty of votes of JJJ listeners but not a lot outside that, much like Vampire Weekend last year.

I'm expecting it to be Heads Will Roll by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs or a Muse song, probably the Uprising.

Earlier in the year, I thought Audacity of Huge may go quite high...not so sure now

Without my thought, I will throw a vote towards Cornerstone and YKB's Getting Wise...not sure what else

Weezer's ...I Want You To may poll well after being Channel V's Ripe clip last week (dunno what gets played mainstream)

Lisa Mitchell coinlaundry will land at about 5 - 6. IMO Uprising is a dead set certainty for top 3, which is obviously a disgrace.

Here's hoping Little lion man or any of the M&S songs win it or at least go close. There are also a few songs from Friendly Fires that could do pretty damn well, skeleton boy, kiss of life and jump in the pool I think are the most well known.

Peaches I feel cream might do alright.

Ladyhawke will go okay too.

I'm not a big radio listener in general, so i'm only going on other sources, but i've noticed there is a bit of love at the moment for Temper Trap. Sweet Disposition for example could ruffle a few feathers, especially with BDO lead-up etc. Doubt they'll win it obviously, but could surprise.

Little Lion Man will definitely go top-2.

In the last 3-4 weeks, I've heard it played on:

Triple M (hardly surprising there), K-Rock and Channel 10.

The teeny boppers have caught on, meaning it'll get their votes as well as the Triple J listeners; also known as the Kings of Leon/Powderfinger effect.

What about Crying Lightning. Arctic Monkeys are a J favourite and it was a pretty popular song.

Bit of a mixed bag with Arctic Monkeys... they never seem to poll well. Crying Lightning will probably be in around 30-50. Cornerstone probably higher
