hotton = deluca

hey, just finished watching a 2001 match of the blues on fox, and it occurred to me that deluca is almost like a younger, new era Trent Hotton - in that he is a fairly handy, mobile forward /ruckman - that may not star but atleast holds his own and can influence a match when moved forward. The difference is Deluca is a bit taller / younger, and should develop into a better player than hotton was
in saying that, i think hotton was a very able, and consistent contributor in his time at the blues

I'd like DeLuca to bulk up alot over the next 2 or 3 years and become a permanent forward, seems like a nice shot at goal from close and long distance, learning from the likes of Carey, he could become extremely dangerous some day.. other than that, he'd also make a good ruckman.

I think he could be a very hand around the forward line ruck man, letting French drop back into defence. Also frees up Lance from having to contest throw ins etc.

Hopefully Davies can come along as a small, roving forward. He looks the goods at the moment.

don think so dude - sydney and melbourne - he is playing the blues festi at byron bay too. i'm going to the melbourne show and it fricking can't wait! One nation under a groove!!!

I'm not that convinced De Luca will make it as a ruckman, he seems more comfortable floating around the half forward line and occasionally pushing up onto the wings.

Time will tell though

Having seen him in the Victory room I don't think Archie needs to bulk up anymore or he'll risk losing his mobility.
