Much like the Toby Greene incident, evidence is not important in this case. What's important is the children. Why won't anybody think of the children? Do we really want our children running around hitting each other in the head like Houli did?

2 weeks down to 1 to send a message.

A raised elbow is almost always considered intentional, plus it's off the ball.

Let's be serious if Greene did that we would be racing to be the most outraged,, but it's a well liked player so Miers must be a diving dog.

If Greene was considered low impact for the faintest of touches, if MRO is consistent, Houli is in trouble.

But it's Richmond and a GF so nothing will happen, they will probably say he was going for the ball.
Miers moved towards Houli. There is a case for careless over intentional. It wasn’t like Houli went out of his way to swing on Miers.

It’s nothing like Hawkins’ hit on Schofield for example when Schofield was not even paying attention to Hawkins. I’d be surprised if they grade this the same as Hawkins’ hit. Surely not.

Miers came off his line to bump
Houli as he was running past, Houli put his arm up to block the body contact and clipped him in the neck/glassjaw.

Virtually the definition of careless. Didn’t intentionally hit him, intention was to block and carelessness resulted in the high contact.

Could also be deemed below the force to be classed as a reportable offence. Barely grazed him as he ran past. Miers simply flopped.

Miers actually took his eyes off the player with the ball, turned his attentions to Houli, stepped off the line of the mark and deliberately moved into Houli's way. It was not intentional as Houli never lined Miers up. Houli was trying for the over the top handball. If anything, Miers was the one who initiated the intentional contact by trying to block Houli from running on to get a handball receive.
Yeah, we all get handball receives with our elbows up head high. Who hasn't done that? Standard technique.

Houli braced for contact. Watch the video. He doesn't raise his arm until Miers moves into his path. If he lined him up, surely the elbow would be up before that, a la Ablett?

Lol yeah. It was nothing like Hawkins round arm.
Miers went the bump and copped it slightly high and took an Olympic dive.
Did it about 4 times
Needs to cut that s**t out of his game, good young player but he goes to ground faster then an Italian soccer player.

Pretty similar to Martin/Kennedy and Soldo/Worpel which resulted in one week. But there was less force in this one. Would be the greatest GF injustice since Neville Crowe if they banned him.

Yeah, and when Miers turned around to see Houli coming and went off his line, so did Houli!

So, Houli was lining him up. Not a big hit. Intentional, low impact, head high. One week.
