Wow doesn't get much worse than that! 40 points down at the half. Fins half time stats.....

400 yds (v 65 yds)
180,yds rushing at ave 10 yds per carry
Tannehill...12 for 12, 200+ yds, 4 TDs

Mallett misses the plane...sleeps in again.....I think OC and DC were using same alarm.

Horrendous tackling...again poor organisation. Outcoached by a novice in his second game in charge...of any team!!

4 mins remaining in a meaningless game and Arian Foster who has busted his arse for so many years...and has had a few injuries recently .....is still playing in the game.....why? Unfortunately does his Achilles and his terrific career looks over. Why was Watt even playing late?

O'Brien is encouraged by second half .....who cares Bill!??

This is worse than the 2-14 season...big clean out needed.

Miami game a big wake up call. Impressive second half of the season, great to be back in the playoffs where anything can happen :)

Haha was just reading this post and wondered whether it needed rethinking...

I like the idea of taking a later first QB as well...

Texans signed GM Rick Smith to a four-year contract extension through 2020.

He's in his 11th year as Houston's GM. "Rick's doing a good job for us, and I think stability in the organization is important," said owner Bob McNair. "Rick has put together a good scouting staff, and he works well with the coaching staff. I thought this was a good time to get this done." Smith had a big offseason, poaching Brock Osweiler from Denver and improving the running game by signing Lamar Miller to a four-year contract. He came in at No. 10 in RotoPat's annual GM rankings.

Ranked 10th!!! There must be some seriously ordinary GMs out there.

Andre Johnson just announced his retirement. Hopefully will make it to the HOF, deserved more success over his career. Thanks for the Texans memories.

Great win today, beating the Colts on their home turf after they were coming off a huge win last week was a mighty effort. Get past the Jags next week and it will probably come down to the week 17 match up with the Titans for the AFC South.

PFT is saying the Texans are going to give Brock Osweiller a chance to get his job back. I should think so since they owe him another $16 million next year whether they cut him or not.

Huge miss in giving a relatively unproven guy a big contract like that.

That is why good GMs do not do that with FAs and why their use of established FAs decline as they get more drafts picks under their belt.

And to think they could've had Derek Carr in the second round still, instead of taking a Right Guard.

Lets also remember Elway was willing to offer him slightly less money. Give him a another chance but looks like a huge bust. I blame David Carr for us not having his brother. What a curse on the club that man (David) is.

Werent you the same guy who said Derek Carr was no good and that Connor Cook would be starting this year?

And Connor Cook is starting at QB for the raiders this week which is ironic given Alldat's comment just above.

If we can't win this game then I doubt we will win one for a long time. If we do win then I fear what the Pats will do to us the week after assuming the Steelers win as well.

Good effort by Brock today, did what was required, rushing game didn't click. On a hiding to nothing today and nothing to lose next week. All the pressure on the Pats/Chiefs.

BTW Revis getting picked ahead of Bouye for the Pro Bowl was a joke.

The Houston Texans today announced their 2017 assistant coaching staff:

Interesting seeing Wes Welker helping out.

Tom Savage will start the Texans' preseason opener.

It's not a surprise; Savage has taken every single first-team rep at Texans camp, and the Houston Chronicle's John McClain recently wrote Savage was "clearly" ahead of Deshaun Watson through two weeks of practice. On Monday, coach Bill O'Brien did confirm Watson and third-stringer Brandon Weeden "will play" Wednesday night against Carolina, but didn't give any playing-time specifics.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien confirmed J.J. Watt (knee) is done for the season.

Watt suffered a left tibial plateau fracture on Sunday night. He will be placed on injured reserve in the coming days, and he faces a long recovery which likely will stretch into the offseason program. The Texans also lost OLB Whitney Mercilus for the season to a torn pectoral on Sunday night. Houston will need Jadeveon Clowney to step up in a big way.

Texans LT Duane Brown admitted his team was eventually persuaded to practice on Friday -- albeit without DeAndre Hopkins -- but said the situation involving owner Bob McNair's insensitive comments regarding NFL players is "not over."

Brown said Texans players will "reconvene" to discuss their next course of action. At very least, a protest of some sort seems likely after McNair called NFL players "inmates" in a "prison" at a recent owners-players meeting designed to bridge the gap on social issues. National and local Houston reporters have suggested a fallout from McNair's comments will "reverberate around the league."

Seahawks CB Jeremy Lane has failed his physical, and is no longer part of the team's Duane Brown trade with the Texans.

Lane has been dealing with a groin injury, and hasn't played since Week 4. With Lane's failed physical, the new terms of the trade are: Brown and a 2018 fifth-rounder to the Seahawks, a 2018 third-rounder and 2019 second-rounder to the Texans. Lane will return to No. 4 duties for the Seahawks once/if he gets healthy.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and the Houston Chronicle confirm Deshaun Watson tore his ACL in Thursday's practice, and will undergo season-ending surgery.

Aaron Wilson reports Watson will be ready for the start of the 2018 season. Even in a year riddled with superstar injuries — Andrew Luck, David Johnson, Odell Beckham, J.J. Watt and Aaron Rodgers, to name a few — this is the biggest blow yet. Watson is the NFL's brightest quarterback prospect in years. His loss is a season-ruining event for the Texans, and at least for Week 9, forces Tom Savage under center. Savage arguably isn't good enough to even be on a 53-man roster, let alone start NFL games. The Texans will need to explore other solutions.
