Fake news guy
I think someone played a joke on him and he fell for it and now has lost some cred....

----------

NFL insider Howard Balzer was apparently joking when he "reported" the Texans were willing to work out free agent Colin Kaepernick.

We really wish we had not passed this one along, but there was zero reason to believe a professional NFL lifer like Balzer was "joking," especially considering the straightforward tone of his tweet. We have sourced Balzer in the past, but will not do so going forward. Kap was and is a free agent who seems nowhere close to getting an NFL workout. His collusion lawsuit against the NFL is still moving forward.

Texan fans very sorry to read the s**t news about Watson. :(

Injuries are cruel and you guys are having a bad run, it happens some years and it part of the nature of the game, but that doesn't make it any easier when it occurs, all the best for the rest of the season.

Hang in there guys . :thumbsu:

You look like your have a good one in Watson going forward :football::football: we hope for a speedy and successful recovery.

MMQB's Albert Breer writes it is "seeming less and less likely that the Texans’ football hierarchy will return intact in 2018."

Rumors have been swirling about Bill O'Brien's future in recent weeks, and they are loud enough that several players have taken to the media to express their support. Those comments, especially from Deshaun Watson, could make it difficult for the Texans to move on from their head coach, but it also may not be productive to carry on the status quo with O'Brien and GM Rick Smith reportedly at odds. Also complicating matters is O'Brien's contract, which is set to run out after 2018. Ultimately it would be a surprise if the Texans move on from O'Brien considering how much success he had with Watson before the injury, but it is not a guarantee.

All the best for Rick Smith and his family, obviously particularly his wife, as she starts the fight against breast cancer.

Wish her a speedy recovery against a vial disease.

Seeing as though our first pick wasn't until 68 am pretty happy with the Texans 3 picks today, Justin Reid, Martinas Rankin and Jordan Akins.

Reid might have been someone we took if we still had our second rounder, while Rankin and Akins were position needs. Akins a bit of a surprise but will always back in our recruiters over any group think.

Just hope we don't have to wait this long again for a pick in future drafts, the waiting is a killer.

You wouldn't want to be too invested in this Texans team because they will constantly let you down, they are just downright awful and despite having some weapons on offence and defence they just continually fail to live up to any expectations no matter how small those expectations are.
Time for a new coaching panel to bring in some fresh ideas.

Stinking it up again. If losing to Titans team missing both tackles and Gabbert as starter, wasn’t bad enough. OL was real bad, Davenport five penalties!
Pass D was rubbish. Watson third interception in EZ in three games.

Head Coaches are such arrogant disrespectful campaigners, all those screamers.

D.J. Swearinger remains upset with Bill O’Brien four years later

D.J. Swearinger praises Gary Kubiak, the coach who was in Houston when the Texans drafted the safety in the second round in 2013. But the Washington safety has nothing nice to say about current Texans coach Bill O’Brien, who cut Swearinger after the 2014 season.

The Washington safety wrote on Instagram this week about how he lost respect for O’Brien after what he called “unprofessional actions” by the coach.

Swearinger said O’Brien told him he would not last more than three years in the NFL.

“My God & grind had a plan and knew that six years later . . . I would make him eat his words!” Swearinger wrote.

The Texans play at Washington on Sunday, and Swearinger can’t wait. It will mark his second career meeting against his former team.

Swearinger remains bitter, though he left four years ago.

He calls a dispute with one of the defensive coaches a “misunderstanding” that helped usher him out of Houston. Swearinger said he once got in trouble while trying to make a helpful comment to another player during a defensive backs film session.

“I remember the day like yesterday,” Swearinger said, via Les Carpenter of the Washington Post. “We had a walkthough, a regular walk-through, and O’Brien called the whole walk-through off and said he wanted to talk to me and all the defensive coaches. That was shocking to me, because I didn’t know what the deal was, and he came to me basically telling me that he was going to bench me. That don’t work; cut me; that don’t work.

“I felt totally disrespected by the conversation, you know. He0 yelled at me in my face for about a minute in front of all the defensive coaches, and I sort of lost a lot of respect for the DB coach at the time and O’Brien because of how that situation went.”

O’Brien praised Swearinger in a conference call with the Washington media on Tuesday

Andre Johnson made 1,012 catches for 13,597 yards and 64 touchdowns in his 12 seasons as a receiver for the Texans. He caught another 50 passes for 588 yards and six touchdowns in two other seasons elsewhere.
Now, Johnson wants to have as much success in the front office.
Johnson, who retired after the 2016 season, is returning to Houston as a special adviser to head coach Bill O’Brien and General Manager Brian Gaine. Johnson said before his induction into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday that he is grooming to become a General Manager.
“I’m learning the business of the game,” Johnson said, via John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. “I thought I might want to be a G.M. or run a team. I want to do everything I can to help the Texans win their first Super Bowl.”
Johnson recounted at his first of seven Pro Bowls, when his name was called for the team picture, someone said, “Who the hell is here from the Texans?”
“That always motivated me,” Johnson said.
Now, after a career running by defensive backs, Johnson is motivated for a second career running a team.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there is a "real possibility" J.J. Watt (pectoral) will return for the playoffs.
The torn pec Watt suffered in Week 8 was thought to be a season-ender at the time but Watt has reportedly done "incredibly well" in his rehab and feels he could play right now if needed. The Texans can still designate one player to return from IR, which it appears they're saving for Watt. Per Rapoport there is even a chance Watt could return for the final weeks of the regular season, though that may be overly ambitious. There's not much risk to Watt, who should be ready for the start of 2020, even if he aggravates his injury or suffers another tear. Obviously getting back a player of Watt's elite caliber—he's a three-time Defensive Player of the Year—would be an incredible boost for Houston's defense, which has largely disappointed this year.

Houston Chronicle's John McClain reports the Texans are "hoping" to sign Deshaun Watson to a long-term contract before the 2020 season.
Negotiations have been on-going, but nothing has been particularly close yet. That could change over the next week, especially after the quarterback market was reset following Patrick Mahomes' record-breaking contract. On top of figuring out the annual salary, Watson and the Texans have to agree on how many years the extension will be. Watson likely wants a shorter contract to maximize his career earnings. Houston obviously wants to keep their star quarterback in the building for as long as possible. For fantasy purposes, Watson is locked into the top six and deserves to be drafted somewhere between the sixth and seventh round.
