NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Texans are "standing firm" on QB Deshaun Watson with the goal of getting him to stay in Houston.
The Texans obviously want to mend their relationship with Watson because they will never be able to get the true value of a young, elite passer via trade. However, Watson has made his trade request public and looks willing to see if Houston will blink first in this staring contest. Houston has already been rumored to at least have offers in mind of what they will need to move Watson. These reports were that the Texans wanted either three first and a player or two first plus extra picks and players. If the rumors are true, Watson is clearly not an unmovable asset. The Jets and Dolphins are the two teams most equipped to put together deals for the star passer. Both teams have multiple first-round selections this year including a top-five pick for each team.

I want to congratulate the Texans on at least doing something right, and publicly saying they won't be trading Watson.

Easterby is a master negotiator.

Er, what? 🤨

Also, no surprise Easterby is grooming a member of the "Fellowship of Christian Athletes" to be the next HC (assuming there is any truth to this at all)

Hopefully this all means Cal McNair is framed into some scandal, or something exposed, forcing a sale of the franchise.
They can only hope.

He "commits suicide" and leaves the team to Jack Easterby in his will.

exans released J.J. Watt.
Watt in a video posted to Twitter Friday morning said he and the team "mutually agreed to part ways" after his release request. The Texans, true to form, chose not to trade Watt for draft picks or any other form of compensation. A first round pick in 2011, Watt became the face of the Texans franchise over a decade of underachieving Houston teams that were never real championship contenders. Watt, Pro Football Focus' seventh highest-graded edge defender in 2020 who has the third most QB pressures since 2011, is sure to have multiple suitors in the coming months. The potential trade of Deshaun Watson from the dysfunctional franchise leaves the Texans in rebuild mode with few short-term prospects.
