A decent crowd turned out for Sunday's match; it was fairly chockers in front of Snout's Bar. No doubt supporters of both clubs had turned out in the hope of seeing a rare victory.
Glenelg played like it has for much of the year; showing glimpses of brilliance (like 6.5 to 0.1 in the first quarter) and being competitive for most of the match - but still going to sleep for an extended period, i.e. the entire third quarter.
The Roosters were more than dominant in that third term, the Tigers barely had a sniff - but thankfully North is North, and they frittered away most of their chances in front of goal, having several misses from set shots and a few OOB on the full. There is no reason the Roosters should not have been at least level with Glenelg at the last change.
Nevertheless the Roosters couldn't take the game when it was there. The Bays regrouped and hammered on 5 goals in the final term to clinch the match.
Champagne football it was not - but it was a WIN. It was over the lowly Roosters, and with a less than convincing performance - but fate cannot harm me tonight, for the Bays are back on the winners list!
Bring on them Blues...
