This club has surpassed Melbourne, Carlton and Gold Coast as the biggest failure of the 21st century. I cannot fathom how difficult it would be to support this football club.

The way these boys are playing is soul crushing for any supporter. These guys talk finals every year, Lloyd talks about taking the 'next' step and not just making up the numbers in finals, mate, forget about finals, this is arguably the worst performance of the year from any club. They play this ridiculous game plan, where they mark the ball, move the ball and insist on handballing at all costs, whether the player theyre handballing too is flat footed or under severe opposition player.

Ch7 and News Corp, who are or have been ACTUAL longterm sponsors of EFC, continually fluffing Essendon is a big part of their problem.

Outside of the Collingwood not alot to ring home about. They also got Collingwood at there worst run of games all year.

The list is in its prime and doesn't have any more youth coming through. Even if they have "some guns" those guns ain't going to win them a premiership.

Just a below average side that will middle for a few more years then have to re build again. Sydney are closer to a premiership then this mob and they have only just started a rebuild.

This is why I don't rate Essendon's midfield. Sure, they're missing McGrath (who is utterly vanilla and isn't fixing anything), and Heppell is coming back from injury (but again, he hasn't solved much since being drafted), but Merrett, Shiel, Parish and Smith are being shown up as the utterly middle-of-the-road pack of "stars". They've spent heavily in terms of picks and trades on their midfield for a number of years and it's still less than average. It still needs work even though Dodoro has spent multiple picks in multiple seasons on trades and top picks.
