From memory the only one in recent times we've lost was Owies back in 2023? Think we went 6-0 in 2024 vs Christian and obviously the infamous Cripps fiasco end of 2022.
Yeah it's unbelievable, the blue-baggery was even powerful enough to get an ex-Freo player off - I was sure that was enough to **** Cerra.

From that 'Reason'

"Bowes moved lower immediately prior to the moment of contact. The Tribunal has frequently observed that in a fast moving game such as this, players can be taken to know that their opponent may suddenly move in a way that renders a certain act careless.

But here we are addressing whether this act was intentional, and the movement of Bowes at the last second supports the view that Cerra intended to push him in the chest or shoulder, but the strike to the head was not intended."

So you are saying that Bowes initiated contact (mentioned above), ducked at the last minute and drew high contact. AKA HE WAS DIVING FOR A FREE ...............

The fact is that Michael Christian is not even remotely impartial when it comes to Carlton. He has repeatedly handed down ridiculous decisions against Carlton players, to a level that is absurd. It's not just the suspensions, but 5 players also copping fines for stupid reasons following a game played with all the malice of a Sunday school picnic.

Cynically, Carlton hit some form and suddenly face multiple tribunal hearings while in the midst of a short week (6 days and travelling to SA leaves far less time to appeal).

If it wasn't funny seeing him constantly humiliated by the tribunal there would be a case that his position is untenable. As it is, he seems to keep his job only because it makes the other clowns at the AFL look like geniuses in comparison

Michael Christian played for Collingwood.

Edit: sorry misunderstood. The Cats player is "Pick #7".
Our highest draft pick since Joel Selwood and a lot of us see nothing in him. He’s either going to be your slow burn type or he’ll be delisted within 2 years. Right now I’m on the latter.

You got given him AND pick #7 (for a future 3rd). Bowes was the steak knives in his own deal.

I just put the pick number down as a joke that it was more memorable than Bowes himself.

This thread deserves an award. If Carlton's players had the talent and heart of our legal team we'd win 10 flags in a row.

Imagine the football skills of Brisbane
Imagine the umpire favouritism of Geelong/Western Bulldogs
Imagine the recruiting prowess of former Essendon draft king Dodoro

And the Carlton legal team

Combine them for the ultimate football side.

It’s a pattern that continues, it must annoy the AFL. They tighten the tribunal process this year, which is one of the reason up until yesterday nobody got off.

Honestly surprised other clubs haven’t tried to figure out what Carlton are doing, it can’t all be down to luck. Especially with yesterday & Hinge having basically a similar incident & straight after & they failed to move the needle.

Personally I think it’s ridiculous that lawyers are even in the process, but that’s a different topic

Anyone with a half a brain could see that it was a very frivolus charge.

Had he been rubbed out for that, then there would be 8-10 players reported every week for the same thing.

I don't agree with all the pushing, shoving & grappling that goes on around the ball-ups but until there is some definitive ruling on it, this sort of behaviour will continue.
