How crap this st.kilda spot is

They are all on the main board.

Most Saints fans generally tend to discuss St Kilda related issues at saintsational, much because of people like yourself.

yes we have our own forum where we share a wealth of saints knowledge. now get off, you're giving south australians a bad name! :cool:

I have to admit that if I have anything to discuss with other Sainters - I will post at Saintsational.

During the season I have posted here regularly but I admit that this board (Big Footy Saints Forum) doesn't attract a lot of traffic.

When I log on I do a sweep to check out if anyone has posted here and check it out if they have. But more often than not, no new posts so I dont bother looking.

I suppose it's up to us to maintain some sort of continued presence here as we are beginning to cop a bit of flack by posters on the main board who claim we don't post Saints related stuff here.

But who gives a toss really what the opposition fans say or don't say ?

Yeah, Saintsational takes alot of business away from this board.
Oh, and by the way choc a holic, having a go at an opposition team on thier board (complete with poor grammer and spelling) is kinda sad, don't you think?
I thought school holidays were over, don't you have homework? ;) :D

umm yes the 'bad grammar and spelling' is actually a shortcut to writing.

n yes im bak at scool now! :D

and fine, i am sorry 4 posting cr*p in this bored

Good - you can sorf then.

One of the reasons I haven't been on BigFooty for ages is the propensity for ********s to post inordinate amounts of crap on the boards. It really does ruin it for people like me who are used to adult discussions of topics on other boards (heavy metal boards in my case). :(

Well, I'm not a Saints fan but I'm on here anyway to share something with you.
Being die hard Saints supporters you probably know this anyway, check out the longest VFL/AFL premiership drought by any club.
I think you'll find that the Sth. Melbourne/Sydney Swans have taken one of your dubious records away from you.
St.Kilda 1897 to 1966 before premiership glory.

Swans have now gone since 1933 without a flag.

Have a nice day.:D

That record passed to the Swans several years ago, they are now 70 seasons and counting without glory, this season coming is thier 71st since they won a Premiership.
It took St Kila 69 years to win a Premiership.

Lets look at the equation shall we...

1897 = 1 season
1898 = 2 seasons
1899 = 3 seasons
1900 = 4 seasons
1901 - 1966 = 66 seasons (inclusive of 1966 season)

Long time since I was at school but 66 +4 equals 70 seasons.
1966 season must be included as Saints were premiers at the conclusion of it.

If the Swans had won the premiership in 2003 it would have been 70 seasons and therefore shared 70 season drought, they did'nt, they now have the record, even with a premiership this year it will be a 71 season drought.

Where you get that they took the record several years ago would take some fantastic explaining, I can't wait to hear it.

Doesn't matter which way you look at it or when it was broken, the record's theirs, not ours.

BTW - the Saints didn't play in '16 and '17.

The Swans were out in 1916 and 17 as well.
St Kilda were also dropped out of the competition after round 10 in 1943, because Geelong didn't play and the clubs didn't like the bye system.

Hoonose and all, I have a problem with your reasoning. 1966 does not, can not, count as a season in the equasion of "years without a premiership". We won it in that year, duh! It took St Kilda 69 seasons to win a VFL premiership.
Sydney/South has been without a premiership since 1933, which is 71 seasons ago. If they win the premiership this season, it has taken them 71 seasons.
This is according to the official stats book.

Who cares?

What are we worrying about this for?

Not worrying, per se, just like my stats is all. I'll grab any reason to sound superior and knowledgable! ;) :D

Right, I came on here originally to point out for the benefit of those Saints supporters that did'nt know of the passing of an abysmal record to the Swans.
Get some sort of posts going on what is, as the topic implies a pretty pathetic site.
I still maintain they had to play that 70th season before winning the premiership.
At the conclusion of 70 VFL seasons the Saints held the silverware aloft, whether they played in all 70 is irrelevant.

As to the Swans, you only repeated everything I had already stated.

When it's all said and done, be it 69 or 70, it's an atrocious record in any sport by any team that should have been grounds for relegation from the competition long before ever getting that state.
People lived and died there entire lives in that time, 2 world wars, women given the vote, countless inventions and the dear old Saints still could'nt find a winning formula, was 69 years in the planning if anything.

I'm outa here in case losing is contagious.

I don't know if losing is contagious but you've got the loser market cornered.
