Simpson didn't start talking about our side being a very different side until priddis announced his retirement in what, round 15?

Up until that point they clearly believed they were contenders for the flag and all the trading, talk and drafting has been with that in mind.

Even then he had to be brow beaten by the media to play Partington.

I thought it began around the time we lost to the Suns. Certainly, that was when the comments began from simpson that we were an average side playing for a spot in the eight.

Even humouring you on that point does it add to the validity of your post? You said the club will think it had a successful year and change is not needed which is just baseless whingeing

Absolutely nothing to gain from it and everything to lose based on wellingham previous form in our jumper and losing valuable experience for parto.

Even re-signing Lecras and Mackenzie reveals their stubborn belief in this sides senior players.

If they selected a finals team on the basis of getting some experience into youth, then that would be a basis for sacking imop. Its 1 step up from straight tanking.

Talk about moving the goal posts. I myself have criticized the lack of list development throughout the year. But your assertion that the club are satisfied and think we have a good enough list is just laughable bullshit haha

If your a senior coach in a final series, and your attitude is, 'we cannot win, no point taking it to serious, let's blood some kids' then you need to be gone, because that shit can go through a club like shit through a goose.

I'm not sold on this "at least we got finals finals experience into them" mantra anymore. Why? Because the Tigers and Bulldogs swept the finals series in the last 2 seasons with only a handful of players even playing in a final. I'm not saying its not valuable experience, it is, but what is important is a culture of winning, a culture of doing anything at all costs to win. We have lost that as a group and as an organisation. We can have all the superstars in the world but if we are missing that culture we are nowhere.

Someone wrote on here about hurn not being a great leader. Look at the way Cotchin played over the finals. He was manic. Diving in everywhere (lucky to play in gf but he was going hard 4 the ball)
Other than a bump on boak a couple years ago i cant remember much other than him sweeping up in the backline. Look i like the guy and hes a good kick etc but maybe we should look to a young guy to build a list around.
