At the end of 2017, Brad crouch polled votes in every game he played in the club bnf, (20 games, 5 less than the crows played) I think he was at his highest currency, at the end of 2019, gold coast were offering pick 5 for him, so him Tex and pick 9 (Chayce Jones) would have got the deal done.

What makes you think Gold Coast would have been willing to trade a top 3 pick in such a highly-rated draft for Crouch and/or Tex? Neither of them were that good. Yes, Gold Coast traded pick 2 for Weller, but that was in a far worse draft, plus Weller was young and actively wanted to come to them.

Wingard wasn't good enough for the haul Port got for him either actually, they fleeced Hawthorn in that deal.

Port drafted terribly for a few years but the last 4 years have been incredible. The Crows have done everything wrong during 2017-19 but maybe back on track in 2020.
Agreed. Crows can turn it around I believe but it will take a few years and some much better choices in draft picks.

Adelaide got there a few years ago and brought it all undone with some really poor decisions. A lot of clubs fall over at the final hurdles, they are the hardest ones. Adelaide fell over hard.
