Follow the Geelong method. Win the football, then keep it away from them by maintaining possession through a series of fast, accurate passes, either by hand or foot, leading to a large number of goals being scored.
No matter how quick Essendon's players are by foot, its quicker to move it through the air. We just have to beat them in close, tackle harder, and execute our skills properly...

yep, in theory.
One thing we suck at is precision passing, and maintaining posession. So we wont be able to maintain a geelong standard of disposal for an entire game of football (lucky to hold up for even a single quarter).
We have to create contests and just be harder at the football than the bombers. Be ferocious with our tackling and take our chances when they turn the ball over.
Very winable game this one, i have a feeling we will be able to chalk up our first win of the season.

I thought the same about the Tiggas! I really hope we can stick it right up the filth but I am not optimistic.

its not really the Geelong method. Its FOOTBALL. they're just doing it the best.
But you're right. Footy is essentially a game of keepings off. If we can get it more than them and maintain possession, those little ankle biters from essendon wont have a chance to run it away from us. thus allowing us to win the game.

Hit targets when we win the footy.
Chase hard and pressure them, they are quick but their disposal is not great.
Defend hard and hit all those runners who have made 10m on their men, turn and chase time and time again.....and hit our ****ING targets.
