My wife & I bought a new bed about 2 years ago now and mostly bought it on its looks (frame, etc) and that it felt "good enough". Honestly, the bed we had prior was so stuffed that anything would have felt better.

But these days I just don't think I'm all that comfortable with my mattress, nor the pillow I use.

Is there actually a good resource you can go to that would help you select the right bed for you - pillow included?

I understand that retail places like Forty Winks say they can do this sort of stuff but I'm questioning whether they would give the best advice or give advice based on what works for them income wise.

Dont get 100% latex if you live in Qld they are hot and heavy.....,but solid firm and comfortable in winter

If you get a king get a split king flipping full king mattresses is bloody hard.
If you get a king size it makes it hard to travel anywhere that only have queens
