First of all, congratulations cats fans, you truly demolished the insipid power yesterday and showed why exactly you were the top team of 2007.

But tell me, what is that feeling of euphoria like? There was no ppoint asking any of the last few premiers.... West Coast? Pah - 12 years a premiership drought is not. Sydney - They don't have as hardcore fans.... Essendon, Collingwood, Kangaroos? Ha, don't make me laugh.

Your team on the other hand has gone 44 years without premiserhip success, i can understand the heartache - most of you never having won a flag in your entire life and now that is over - I can relate to that. 23 years of mediocrity and nothing to show for it. We haven't hurt as much as you guys (1997 the only grand final we've lost since I've been alive) but it still hurts year after year to fail the way we do.

So since I've realised that it could be a long time before I ever experience this feeling - indeed I may not ever feel it - someone describe the feeling to me. What exactly is it like to end a 44 year drought and take the cup home? To be in front when that final siren rings? Can it be compared to anything?

*sigh*

Once again, congratulations and for God's sake savour every moment because its been a bloody long time coming! Cheers:thumbsu:

The sheer joy of being able to answer back to the obvious catcalls of 'When's your last flag' and other unanswerable tripe that is thrown your way. Geelong's been a great value club in my lifetime, i mean since 1980 we have finished top 4 nine times now, this year inclusive, and have played in several GF's. But without ultmate success, there is always that grand canyon of a gap in your heart.

Today everyone walking around the place had the scarves, beanies and caps, everyone was happy, despite the wind and rain, and everyone was courteous, even myself driving a taxi had a couple of instances of being allowed in for traffic!! The relief also that we can dare to dream now, dare to think of maybe more on the horizon. Our list has only Milburn as a 30 y/o, and i am sure the players are hungry enough to want to establish a dynasty. One flag with this list will not do it justice, i think the players now realise this, the coaching staff do and i think the fans also.

In a way , I feel as though its not real. Its sort of , so , unreal to have something I've dreamed about , happen. Sure does make you smile thou.

One thought that I had on the way from the game is , that this result should give some hope to the Dees , The Dogs and the Saints. If we can do it then anyone can win it.

Agree totally.

It just hasn't sunk in yet.

I am about to go to bed but I don't want this magnificent weekend to end :(

Best weekend ever :)

I.Love.Geelong!
Sounds good as mate, I know if St.Kilda won the flag I wouldn't sober up till the Monday.

Seems like Geelong will be up the top for a few years to come, hopefully the Saints can fire up, and we get to see that Geelong v St.Kilda GF. Would be unreal.

Relief, jubilation, a mix of emotions that has to be experienced to really figure out what it's all about. I'm bloody happy, but I bet I'd be feeling even higher if I were in Geelong at this time.

I'm still hammered!

I've been waiting for this moment for 28 years. I'm lapping this up like a thirsy man at an oasis!

Best thing is that even tho the immediate euphoria will wear off eventually, its going to be an awesome feeling to suck this up for the next six to 12 months. And hopefully we are doing it all again next year :D

Yeah man Geelong were the team of the year no doubts about it. Congats to the Geelong Football Club & James Bartell. Interesting to see that ur still hammered from that whatever you want to call it. e.g. ( a spanking. a rout, a schallacking or a geniune fubar), have you taken anything for that or is going to be one of those moments where it's gonna take more that an asprin to cure that headache? P.S go hawks.:D

I've watched the replay about 4 times now and it still brings tears of joy and pride to my eyes. It's an absolutely beautiful feeling.

The other stuff - not having won for so long, having the 'handbaggers' tag, the impending sense of doom that you're going to lose all the time, they're all gone now. They might come back, but they're gone for now!!!

As strange as it sounds, it's both cathartic AND exciting!

Ever scored a hummer from Jessica Alba??

Imagine that...minus Jessica Alba...plus fishbowl...minus him/her/it...plus the satisfaction of knowing you have it over every single hawthorn ****wit on these boards...plus my current half a bottle of Absinthe.

In short...I won't stop celebrating until my liver gives out.

Regards,

A very satisfied Geelong supporter.

The whole week after it's like your on the best high ever. The relief is unbelievable as well, as you know your club isn't doomed to lose for the rest of your life.

I'm still not sure its fully sunk in yet. I mean after all those years of heartache, of really believing we were good enough, only to fall at the the last hurdle and then this year, aside from the collingwood game, it was just too easy.

As a Geelong supporter I guess I just never thought I'd see the day when we'd win one, let alone that easily. I think when West Coast lost to port by nearly 100 points was when I really started to believe, but even then I thought something would wreck it. I just can't believe we did it. I stare at my replica cup everyday in disbelief.......

Was walking on absolute sunshine. It's an unbelievable feeling...I just can't put it into words. Standing on one of the sculptures outside Gate 1, looking at the seething mass of humanity around me, overwhelmingly blue and white, all overjoyed - greatest moment in my life.
