Of course it depends a lot on who's playing who, the circumstances, but sometimes I think it's strange how un-neutral I can be when the Eagles aren't playing. It's often driven by a special dislike for another team, but can't help but think that this season, with us being irrelevant, I've often felt more joy/disappointing watching other teams win/lose than us. Of course, our wins were still the best feelings, but a few times this year I was cheering for say, the Bulldogs almost as hard as the Eagles, being my second team (having lived in Footscray for some time), as I was in 2016. And I can be one of those obnoxiously loud barrackers whether at home in front of the telly, at the ground or at a pub etc lol. I was thinking too I'm rarely totally neutral, there's usually a team I want to team, for whatever reason. It's usually based on my team preference, but may vary due to other factors.
What about you? How much do you get into games when your team isn't playing?
