Dunno, but it’s about 13 goals closer than anyone’s been in the last 5 days.
Didnt know Hawthorn won by 13 goals last week? or you trying to be sad and earn a few cheap likes in a poor attempt to deviate away from the powerhouse Hawks draw tonight ?

Neither. Pointing out Essendon got flogged last week. No likes required. Looking forward to doing it again.
deflection is a poor character trait champ, welcome to pot my football club in a plethora of threads on the main board or the more educational bay.

This thread is purely about how good Hawthorn was. Nic Watson is a star. Connor McDonald standing up, Cam McKenzie was immense, Massimo's go ahead behind really set up the game.

The ability to stop Nic Daicos really went a long way to winning drawing the game

You were being a rascal and you copped one back, just wear it and move on to the next one

a slip up by a young and determined Hawks outfit, im not worried.

Freo are right next to Hawks in the premiership race so battling it out away on a steamy Thursday night is no mean feet. Hawks firmly in the race for glory still

Few guys doing what are needed of them, Josh Weddle doing fine, Massimo playing a role, Reeves and Meek against the best ruck in the game at the moment was always a tough ask. How is Jack Gunston still doing what hes doing at 44? star

Hawks proved they are nothing more than a 3-6 team.

Can they get over the Lions? No. Can they get over the Suns? Probably. Can they get over Cats/Pies/Freo? No.

They are seriously good, just not elite at much, outside of the Wizard.

nuh man, McKenzie, McDonald, Ward, Weddle are all stepping into good to very good AFL players, we'll be right.

if it clicks then watch out. The biggest elephant in the room is what happens when Gunston invariably falls off the cliff and Lewis injures himself leaning over to stretch ?

All these years and you're still salty regarding Hawthorn CS. How's North going? At least you've acknowledged what a MONUMENTAL stuff up not picking Watson in the draft was, but unfortunately you'll have to blame your coach who didn't want him.

wasnt a stuff up, North already had a few small forward options. Whether they were good enough or not, it was the right call

They took Duursma, who wasn't far off being a small forward.

All hindsight but the Roos would love to have that one again.

Wizard is great for the Hawk. Already a terrific player. Obviously will end up a 0x Premiership Player, but that's his lot in life.

Zane Duursma is a slower burn, 3x 3 goals in 8 games, looking pretty decent. When you have as many early picks as we do, it's doesn't matter.

Your best player is 35, ours is 21, therein lies the difference.

Keep patting yourself on the back though, you're basically Norf 2014-2016 at this stage.

I think my ac closure bet with one of your brethren is pretty safe.

And ffs, you're ahead of us (obviously) but not a chance for a flag, even at the fullest of full-strength. It's kinda cute that you blokes think you are.

Watson one of the all time great draft picks IMO, the guts required to take a 170cm player at the fourth open pick. They would be grateful in hindsight that North got that McKay compo, spared them from taking Duursma when the Hawks seriously needed some big kids. Like Richmond being 'forced' to take Dusty in 2009 because we got a PP and stole Trengove out from under them.

North fans have some real copium about Watson at the moment. Death riding us for the next 15 years.

They know they did you a solid and can't bear it, Hawks 100% would have drafted Duursma over Watson if he was still available.

Will Day is the key for the Hawks. Takes the load off Newcombe who just torches it when fatigued. Would be an awesome 1,2 punch. Mitch Lewis is looking better and better and gives them such a different look, knowing he won't lose a 1v1.
I know they lost last night but they still have a big upside.

I think both sides will be happy. We have our Gunston type who is on track to kick near 40 goals hopefully. Hawks have an amazing player already. Different ends of the spectrum still for our sides, Zane will have many mark and goal of the year noms himself so is pretty good to watch also. Can't we both just be happy?

Hawks in the first half were comfortably the best team we've played all season - even taking into account Geelong's second half in R1 (which I believe was a case of Freo running out of steam). They will be there at the pointy end of the season.

I don't mind players being pricks if they can back it up with how they play - so I'm coming round to both Ginni and Watson. Watson in particular in the first half was electric.

You probably didn't know this but Watson trained at Hawthorn for two years prior to being drafted, we knew his capabilities.
