How good is Fyfe??

While these blokes have some scary potential and ability, i love the fact that Fyfe/Ballantyne/Hill are just fantastic gut runners, especially with Ballantyne who lots of people knew he didnt get a look in the AFL because of his bodyshape and he wasnt an athlete, could of fooled me with some of those absolute bursts through the midfield.

At a young age their work rate is amazing, Definatly some switched on young blokes who want to give Fremantle something to be proud of

He wouldn't have lasted past our pick, that's for sure. We were very interested in him IIRC.

Good player :thumbsu:

You were extremely interested.

Interesting Fyfe was told it would either be Freo or WC - not sure why he certainly had form on the board (and hands to smother several small badgers at a time)

Will be interesting to see teams try and cover a rotating midfield of Pav, Hill, Fyfe, Mundy, Barlow, Ballantine, Palmer and Morabito when they are finally in the same team. Injuries aside there are the foundations of an elite midfield for the next 10 years.
It's something we have never had before at Freo. Also the work ethic of these guys is very impressive. The coaching staff have their players minds fairly and squarely on the task at hand and if they learn to kick it through the tall white posts in the middle they will start to bury sides.

Spot on :thumbsu:

Fyfe did not run free today.

Correct.

At every stoppage (which Fyfe was at 95% of them) he was always on the defensive side of the ball-up or boundry throw-in with a North player next to him.

But for some unknown reason, who ever Nth player was there with him didnt harass him, hold him, or try to block him.

They just sort of stood there and went " As long as he's with-in 2 mtrs of me, thats OK"..and Fyfe got so many quick kicks out of a crowded pack of players.

And like Hird, he has a powerful kicking leg. One step and bang!... the ball goes 45mtrs up the ground.

His awareness and ability to dispose of the ball so quickly will be a nightmare for opposistion coaches to combat...along with Pav, Mundy and Hill's quick hands. Imagine what they would be like if Barlow and Morobito were playing in this team as well!

Just 19 years old...unbelievable.

Hird wasn't playing like that untill he was 22...

Had him marked in my Supercoach side from round 1, stoked that he is having a breakout year! :D

Unbelievably gifted player for his age, Freo must be stoked to get him for a second rounder! Good drafting by them!

Imagine a Midfield of: Sandilands Fyfe Hill Mundy Barlow Morabito! :O

Pitt also showing he can play, and I'm also very keen to see Mzungu who is yet to play.

Freo have a real good list and if they can snare a few young upcoming KPP's, they will challenge for a flag in a few years.

Really annoyed at not getting to see too many Freo games as they have 3 of my favourite players playing for them...Pavlich has been an out and out gun for years, Hill who will be a gun for many years to come and Fyfe who I picked as a star in the making after the Tigers game from last year.

This kid will be something "special"!!

I'd trade anyone on our list besides Hurley and Watson for Fyfe. I have him above Martin, Hill as the best young midfielder in the competition. Fun times for Fremantle in the near future.

Good onya MLTC, thanks for the acknowledgement that Fyfe has talent with a capitol T, but as a Freo supporter I have to say that there is no way in the world I would swap him for Hurley or Watson.

Very lucky to have Foxtel and watch many Freo games on Sundays live.
Fyfe has produced the best first 20 games of any player since Chris Judd back in 2003. Has tremendous balance, pace, never goes to ground, reaches more contests than most, courageous and has still to develop physically. If I was pick a player for my team - he'd be a mile in front of Barlow (pre injury) whose foot skills aren't as good.
Fyfe will turn games in future and I love watching the purple haze nearly as much as my beloved pies. Both high scoring and entertaining (take note Ross Lyon, Neil craig and John Longmire.)

Have seen all of Freo's games this year (love Foxtel) and absolutely loving watching Fyfe and Ballintyne do their work. Some of North's kids could learn something from those two, especially Lindsay Thomas.

Also, cant help myself, but everytime Fyfe goes near it I say, "Two questions. One, where's the fyfe? And two, gimme the fyfe!" :D

I see him as more like Ken Hunter.

Mark Bairstow can feel the rumbling in the earth, Nat is poised to rip the prestigious crown off Marks's head. "Best player from Lake Grace ".

I see a lot of Ken Hunter in Fyfe as well, particularly his leaping and marking ability, but a lot closer to Hunter at his best than he should be at this stage of his career. His handballs in tight heavy traffic are amazing. Has skill, poise, flair and media presence. All the attributes to become one of the greats.

I suspect Bairstow will be quite happy to lose the attention.

Absolutely Ken Hunter like, whether it's the wiry frame or the socks down, I don't know. Love watching the kid play. :thumbsu:

Love the Fyfe.

Case for Foxtel has been put to the financial controller:

Me: We can watch Freo play
Her: ...
Me: We can see Natty Fyfe play
Her: zzz

Work in progress.

Let me encourage you to keep putting in the hard yards here. You know its in a good cause after all.

ps. If you ever hit the right formula let me know. I'm getting a similar response at this end:D:D:D

His hands are just so good. Possibly the best seen in a while out of the younger generation.

Just comes in from the side and drags one down and he does it frequently.

3 votes against North you'd think.

Hope he keeps going like this.
