Fantastic debut. One thing we need to remember is that he is still raw. We cant afford to have to much expectation on the kid. He will have down games, times when his position in the side is questionable and will make mistakes.

BUT FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE GOING THIS WEEK AGAINST COLLINGWOOD...

watch him when he battles for a ruck contest in the Centre of the ground. What he does is something in which he did at the Knights and which i didnt think he would do straight away.

1. His first objective is to win the tap-out and hit it to advantage.
2. Make sure that he provides a contest at ground level after the ruck contest to ensure a Carlton clearence.
3. the most important one, BACKS HIMSELF and PUSHES FORWARD once the above 2 have been achieved if we have possesion. Personally i think that he was much better when he was in the ruck than what he was when he was a forward.

How fantastic was his contest today! Mr 1% - just what our team needed.:thumbsu:

He definitely gives us an additional midfielder when he is in the ruck. For him the job is only half done after he has competed at the ruck contest, he then gets down to competing for the ball on the ground. He has exceeded my expectations of what he would achieve in his early games.

I will have to watch the replay for confirmation but a couple of times today I thought I saw him do freakish things for an 18yo
- unable to get to ruck contest due to av. bounce he predicted their tap and got a rebound type tap
- caught behind at a boundary throw in he guided opponts hand to tap it to our adv

Of course it could be euphoric delusions :):)

He was great on debut last week, how about today against the Pies?

Did he have much in the way of ruck duties or did he mainly play as a forward?

He played more in the ruck this week and held his own. His 2nd efforts are just amazing for a kid his age, and his size.

Didn't get on the score sheet but was still an excellent game today.

He really contests well for a big man, and the way he can almost rove his own tap out is quite sensational. He really brings a different dimension to our team, and as I said earlier in this thread, he could turn out to be something quite special

Could!? Special K is DESTINED to be something very special. :thumbsu:

I think Kreuzer has proved in his first two games why he warranted no. 1 draft pick. Great reader of the play, tries hard and with a bit of bulk over the next few years he will be dominating like the great man Dean Cox. May get rising star nomination this week.

Watched Matthew Kreuzer play last week and I was shocked.

Don't think I've ever seen a player play his first AFL game the way he did.
Cox clone, will probably be better.

I see Kreuzer being a fan favourite of rival clubs, just by the way he attacks the footy and not being intimidated by others at the tender age of 19.

I also remember seeing him run on the wing with the ball, the looking at his pace, I don't think I've seen any 199cm player in the AFL can run like that.

It's not only these things that make him good, it's his smart thinking, seems like he knows what's going on.

Something will go drastically wrong if this kid doesn't have over 7-8 AA's by the time he's finished his career. GUN :thumbsu:

Matty Kruezer's 1 percenters were outstanding today. Some crucial tackles and contested possession. Great to watch. Also has a ferocious attack on the ball. The guy never gives up - even if the play goes against him, he's always trying to make position for the next opportunity. When the midfielders stream forward, Kruezer is one of them in the pack hoping to be on the receiving end. It's like as though he forgets he's 200cm tall. :)

Kruuuuuuuuz = Fraser, Pause Nooooooooooot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 wins >>> Kruuuuuuuuuuz, Pause Noooooooooooot!!!!!!!!!

I so excite:thumbsu:

P!ssed as a parrot my friend? :D

Special K is exactly what our team needs. Apart from the fact we've got a great young ruck who can kick a goal, it's his work ethic and determination that inspires! Such a great example for our boys - even if they can't be stuffed it's almost like they'd be embarrassed into lifting their rating so good is Kreuzer. :thumbsu:
