My god, what a finish. A famous moment, all because the draw was not a thing. I reckon they should remove the draw in home and away and bring in extended time like that. Incredible game, great for footy.
Why? A draw is a valid result for home and away games. For finals, there needs to be a winner.

No.

H&A - 4 points attached to each game. Win and you get all 4. Draw and you split it because you weren't good enough to get all 4. Draws are extremely exciting too without a winner.

Finals - Advancing through to the next round is attached to each game. Obviously you can't split it because 2 teams weren't good enough, unless Port play 1st half and Eagles 2nd half v GWS next week.

Keep it as it is. No need to change ******* rules like this that are fine.

Why does a draw need to be a thing if more excitement can be generated from a cut-throat game of footy?
Because extra time is rare and the stakes are higher. That's what makes it more exciting.

Dead rubber games don't get more exciting with extra time.

"No, there's 4 points attached to the game".
Why is a win worth 4 and a draw worth 2?
Why not make it 2 for a win and 1 for a draw?
Or take it a step further and make it one point for a win and no such thing as a draw?

The NFL have it right, it's why it's the most intense game in the world.
This is literally the stupidest argument and AFL fans make it all the time.

NFL has extra time, let's bring it in.

NBA has scoring zones, let's bring it in.

Conferences work in American sports, let's bring it in.

Soccer has a home and away fixture v each side so everyone plays everyone twice, we better do it!

MMA is ******* intense, let's bring in weight divisions, after all another sport does it.

It's not an argument.

Need I elaborate really? How good is a game of NFL when it goes to extra time? So insanely intense, like almost nothing that Aussie Rules can produce.
Tonights game was like those games.

McGovern's goal against Collingwood to draw the game was one of the famous moments of the season. ET may have been a fizzer and detracted from that.

Big difference between a h&a game and a final though

Definitely introduce it to the H&A - there is no reason not to.

Hell even CRICKET knows it's great for the fans with the Super Overs in BBL.

It'll happen 2-3 times a year and it'll beat the shit out of a quickly forgotten draw.
Careful with agreeing with my opinions BJJ, as you can see, smart business doesn't go down well here ;)
