Draws are still so uncommon I don't care too much either way. I assume they introduced ET as a rule after the 2010 GF? I'm surprised it took that long...

Thinking logistically, so the whole next phase is pushed back? Or would Cats/Swans still play while Port/WC play again?
Cats/Swans would still play, in case they ended in a draw they would have another week to play the replay.... blah

The idea of a replay has had it's day.... it's unworkable in a national/professional league... it screwed Essendon in 1990

Correct that's why it was scrapped 27 years ago after Essendon got screwed by it in 1990, as the final 5 was still in place and Essendon already had an extra week off and had rested a fair few guys in r22.

When it was still the vfl kinda workable but even if it remained just that it probably would of eventually been scrapped

Why does a draw need to be a thing if more excitement can be generated from a cut-throat game of footy?
a game of footy played out to a draw has already been tense and exciting and cut-throat to get to that point. a drawn h&a game doesn't need saving from boredom or lack of tension. the excitement at extra time comes from higher stakes at this time of year, not extra time itself.

ET has been around since 91 after Sumich "drew the bloody game" (Malthouse quote) in 90

After the 2010 GF, Demetriou was keen to keep the GF replay for the $$$ even though the build up and game was crap.... Gil killed it off last year, but introduced the seamless sudden death ET if scores are level after ET 2, which is amateurish

"No, there's 4 points attached to the game".
Why is a win worth 4 and a draw worth 2?
Why not make it 2 for a win and 1 for a draw?
Or take it a step further and make it one point for a win and no such thing as a draw?

Or
SANFL does 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw. Percentage is out of 100, too.

The NFL have it right, it's why it's the most intense game in the world.
Do you even watch the NFL? They still have draws. :$

Stick with tradition, **** making things more exciting because of tradition.
Except 'exciting' isn't an automatic. The last extra-time final was a pretty shit finish.

Nothing more intense then 3 QB kneels to finish off the last two minutes of a game to the point where they film the sidelines instead of the 'action' like in the season opener.

I love me some NFL but to have it just because the NFL does is a stupid argument. Maybe Aussie rules needs more domestic abuse as well?

Im usually all for leaving the game alone but this one just makes sense.. I dont really like the draw because after all that effort to put a game on with up to 90,000 paid supporters there and then for everyone to leave with no result... I dunno just lacks a little common sense I think to not play ET. Soccer its understandable to have it as its so low scoring their would be ET every 2nd game. Either way doesnt bother me. Is what it is.
