They should just sideline him for the rest of the season, let him get the right rehab and preseason so he can have a crack next year.
Bad hammys tend to be long term recurring injuries very worrying signs so early in his career.

Not the first and won't be the last to suffer from injuries in his first year.
Everyone just needs to relax a bit I think.

Wait, so you want people to be reasonable and not take out their general frustrations on the the club because everything is not going our way?
Outrageous!!!

Injuries once again have been a pisstake this year.

8/10 top ten draft debut for their respective teams...except two. Berg was at least up front about it.
Ben Reid's "calf strain" is actually worse than an ACL.
Port score Polec...we get Karnezis.
Fasolo's foot injury ruins two seasons.
Maxwell was close to 2010 form before getting what might now amount to a retirement injury possibly.
Nathan Brown gets another shoulder injury, season ending this time.

I mean I can take a hamstring here or there, but the amount of season long injuries to key positions and talent is these last few years is pretty bad luck.

A harsh overview, but painfully close to the truth.

Incredibly disappointing but I think we need to resist the urge just to blame the fitness guy. Our injury problems certainly deserve to be reviewed thoroughly. If there is an issue with the approaches being taken then I am sure the club will take action. I am certain that Bucks is just as frustrated as us.

I reckon the final training injuries are just bloody unlucky, you can't put ankles down to poor management. Who are the 5? I can only think of 3.

My first comment was to do with Freeman anyway, my feelings regarding Reid and others are completely different!

I agree with you in tht something needs to be reviewed, but how can we be more proactive? I just don't feel that bigfooty could in any way impact that in particular.

The 5 are Freeman (hamstring), Williams (ankle), Sinclair (hamstring), Reid (quad) and PK (hamstring). If you know a guys carrying an ankle injury you manage it by training indoors...

Our list of sackings for the end of the year thus far:

Kicking Coach
The Entire Fitness Department

I challenge anyone to say these people are even remotely good at their jobs.

I would add the medical staff to that list as well.
How long does it take to recover from a calf or a hammy for god sake.
I broke my back in a motorcycle accident and I was up and about in less time than this. Not to mention I didn't have access to all the specialists and facilities these guys have access to.

Ouch! That sucks. Still, you probably weren't coming back to play AFL footy, but you make a great point. Our soft tissue injuries seem to take 3 to 4 times longer than any other club.

Maybe they are brilliant are their jobs. Imagine what we'd be like with out them.

Judd is an old man and he has done his hammy come back done his hammy and come back again. It really is frustrating.

Another great point. Considering we were told Freeman had done a bad hammy, but he hadn't ripped it off the bone or anything like that... Unless they lied to us...

This ^^^

We've effectively lost a season's worth of development with both Freeman / Scharenburg. And we've left Kennedy / Broomhead languish in the two's for most of the season. So 4 of our 5 first round draft picks that should be having some impact this year (see impact of Aish at Brisbane) have had none so we effectively start from scratch next year with these guys they way we are going.

Something has to be done about our injury management process - it's appalling and has been for a number of years. Not so long ago playes would only miss a season with an ACL - not so anymore as we seem to have invented new ailments and injuries that can afflict a player for years

Once again the club has failed to give the supporters any real news about what happened to Freeman. Why the secrecy?

dont worry rockets blackmores advertisement(injury update) will mention that its a niggle, just being cautious and we hope he'l be right next week = season over.

I've never been so annoyed with the club with this and the "effort" Saturday. Frustrated

I'm not going to blame fitness guy just yet.

Last year our injury situation was just as bad under buttifant.

It is Davoron's first year, and he has clearly put a lot of emphasis into running. Clearly, some players bodies haven't dealt with this workload.

I think this has been a massive change in our training, as we have been a contested ball side primarily, with an emphasis on boundary line play and the forward press.

Now we are evolving into a hard running side which spreads from defence and attempts to run hard through the corridor. Our defensive structures now rely on two-way running as opposed to a forward press. We like getting numbers behind the ball and sling-shotting forward. THis is a taxing style of game, and some players have not adjusted to it.

I think the fitness team need a few years before we can assess properly. Davoron inherited a side full of soft tissue injuries already. We also can't blame him for scharenberg either since we recruited him with full knowledge of his issues.

Sinclairs hammy went during a game from memory. First one in the seniors second on the VFL. Or did he do a third at training? I'm losing count...

So you are saying that these are the injuries that had to happen?

Nah we don't. Name one other club that has had an injury in the last session of the week for the past 2 weeks let alone the past month?

Something stinks in the medical/ sports science department at our club and we need to start asking questions as a supporter base or things will continue to falter.
I am as angry as anyone but, would it be reasonable to assume that the Friday session is the session that is most likely to result in the exposure of any potential injuries or limitations of players, since they are pushing them to see if they will stand up to the rigours of a match?

Yeah players will take time to adjust some will cope some wont and then we adjust from there.

It's 3 hamstrings this year for Sinclair now. The first two were in game and the third was when he was on the verge of returning (3 weeks ago now).

I love to get behind the club as much as the next bloke, but there comes a time when enough is enough...
