I believe the correct terminology for Ottens at this time is "in cotton wool". Has been moving freely, and his absence from the field is merely a new philosophy Geelong have finally adopted that keeps injured or underdone players on the sidelines until such time as they are fit.

Spot on. All the talk early was the past mis-handling of our big blokes and how can we handle them better in 2006. Ottens looked fit as a fiddle first session back after new years. He didn't join the main group but did stationary skils and proceeded to do about an hour and a half of sprints. Don't forget that he played in the unofficial practice match prior to the official ones started and took a few strong grabs. And you can't tell me that the look of Kingy in some of the recent shots doesn't excite you (the fact that he's as big as an ox and looks super fit, not in the gay way.........not that there's anything wrong with that). That could also be the reason behind H not playing so far despite not actually being listed as injured. He did drop off a bit at the end of the year in 05 (maybe broken jaw, maybe just the rigors of a full season) and I'm sure that the coaching staff want him and all the big blokes to be Cherry Ripe for round 1.

I think the term is "why risk him in the Fat Rats Cup".

Good to hear they're getting the big man ready to fire for round 1. There's no need to test him out in the NAB. I hope they keep that philosophy going for the rest of the year.

I thought it was wonderful when Richmond hired Terry Wallace, a proven premiership coach who took the Bulldogs to their first flag since... oh, right.

I remember now, The doggies never made a grand final under Terry. Then Terry broke contract and ran when he realised the pressure would be too much. Fantastic character, that plough.
