How many AFL Grand Finals have you been to?

72 and 08 were easily the most memorable. They seemed like seismic events, the footy world upended by certain unpredictable tactics and happenings. I'll never forget those 2 GFs, the memories are rich and deeply embedded.

I've been to one.

I went to the '93 one when I was 15.

I've never been interested in going to Grand Finals. They're a TV event IMO.

Like the Melbourne Cup and the Olympics and other massive sporting events.

It's good to go once in your lifetime to have experienced it - but these things are better at home.

MCC membership is bloody expensive, so you’ve gotta make use of it.
Probably 35 I’m thinking. Back in the day , due to being younger, Dad could get me in on the “ladies ticket” , which full members got and they could bring in their son or daughter.

Best ever 1990. Never been in a crowd like it.

Could have gone to 2021 but at the time my internet was giving me trouble and I could not be ****ed even trying to make sure it would work. Went to the gym instead of trying to get tickets. I could have if I wanted too really. But it was a blessing in disguise that's all I'll say. I did miss out on a cracking Grand Final and my first All Victorian one. But as I said it worked out good in the end. 2008 would have been epic but at the same time watching it on TV was pretty cool. At least you get to see everything. The AFL website charge $1500 a ticket and you're sitting right up at the top of the G pretty much last row or close to it. It's pretty special the day though. As a footy fan we should all get to experience it at least once in our lives. But the cost would be too much for some.

Two, 2017 and 2019. That 2017 season was an incredible experience to culminate in that. 2019 was fun, we were singing the song in the 3rd quarter haha.

Being born 48 years ago helps - because if I was 21 it would be hard to go to 30 grand finals.

But I have been an AFL member since 1994 and a Full member or what is known these days as Gold Member since 1997.

I doubt he is on this forum but up until the two covid grand finals, David Parkin had been to every grand final since 1949. Obviously a number of those he was playing and coaching.

Family members have MCC and AFL memberships since the 90s. We go or get tickets for friends that support the teams.
