Kudos to you...

For being a 103 and being able to use the computer to talk to us all.

Sheesh... Over 25 I would say..

Shelling out close to $900 bucks for my MCC ticket makes you wanna get the value. As a teen, I had an uncle with a rare ladies ticket, and he only had daughters (Lucky me). Have been a full member since 1992

I have done all the Hawk ones since 83, was also at 81-82, and plenty of others as a neutral.

I think I saw all the 90's ones, and the more interesting ones in between

1991

1996 coz Hawks reserves were in the GF so I was given a ticket 😎

2008

2013
2014
2015

I was in the USA for a wedding in 2012 so I watched it from a pub in Houston. I was happy to be on the other side of the world when the game ended 🤣

First one I attended was 1991 at VFL Park. Also attended 2020 at the Gabba. A ‘frequent flyer’ for GFs not played at the G.

Also - I may or may not have attended in 2021, despite not living in WA at the time. Will neither confirm nor deny. And if I did attend, I wouldn’t be dumb enough to boast about it publicly…

1988.

Bought tickets in Launceston about six weeks before the match, which were sold in sets of three - the three VFL Park games and the MCG. The bundle cost $30, so essentially I bought a GF ticket for $10 and could have attended the two Collingwood finals in the previous weeks as well...

Plane flights from Launceston $170 return.

Got to ground halfway through U19 GF, and me and my mate went for a wander. Accidentally walked through a door that took us out of the ground! Went to a gate where the guy wasn't going to let us back in, but when we said we were from Launceston he relented...not sure what to make of that but state pride went out the window through necessity...!

Discovered the reason why Bay 13 was so notorious, as we stood and observed from Bay 14...only female toilets on that side of the ground...

My brother turned up as a Melbourne supporter from Perth. The roar when the Dees took the field was awesome. Unfortunately, that was it...the game never reached that height again as the Hawks destroyed them...

The next year, was set to do it all again, but the pilot's strike robbed me of back to back...!

Still vivid in my mind were two match highlights...Brereton's banana goal, at the time freakish even though it's now a check listed skill set for rookies who aren't from SA, and the rolling maul sequence you'll find on youtube...can recall the hush over around the ground as the Dees crowd knew their day was over with half the match to go, and everyone realising they'd just seen something ground breaking. 1980's football was evolutionary...it was a transition between amateurish and pro, the knowledge, skills and tactics were exponentially progressing, and more frequently than ever before something would happen that made our jaws drop. Things you take for granted now had their roots in the days where they were considered freakish, like the grubber goals of Peter Daicos, and here, the rugby inspired tackling that saw the Hawks mug their way to a few flags before the rest caught up...
