From the Hawthorn website

Youngster Evan Johnson is just one of 11 Box Hill Hawks players given permission by the AFL to train with Hawthorn Football Club this pre-season.

Joining Johnson from Box Hill are teammates Ryan Breese, Richard Eva, Stuart Hill, John Holmes, Andrew Jansen, Paul Jolly, Nick Kane, Ben McGlynn, Brendan Rinaldi and Brendan Weinart.

I notice that Ben Kane is not training with the Hawks - assuming he is totally goneski.

Does anyone know if Paul Jolly a relation to Darren Jolly from the Swans?

Sorry, I was only going on the names listed as "others" training with the Hawks. Ben Kane's name was not listed at all.

I have just checked the news article - Paul Jolley, not Jolly!! No relation it would appear!!

As far as I know, Ben Kane is still training at Hawthorn.

And yeah, Jolley is no relation to Jolly. Been at Box Hill for 2 years now but had a poor year this year.

Re: Ben Kane

Ben Kane is still recovering from his ankle injury. He has only just recently started some light running. He will be re-drafted or at worst rookie listed!

Good to know about Ben Kane 1/2 time.

I thought that in his brief appearances in the brown and gold he looked ok. Certainly worth another year on the rookie list to see if he recovers from his injuries and still can make it.

Good player and a great bloke to go with it. He's been training flat out as soon as the season finished so hopefully he can shake of the ankle injury and play some good senior footy in '06'.

I reckon the best he can hope for is rookie listing. There's no way we'd use out picks 3-22 on him, and I think we have other ideas for the PSD.

However, we do have 5 rookies spots available...
