Self explanitory really. I still haven't made a trade yet and am still averaging high 1900's per week... the Heath Shaw and Alan Didak burning of late last year is still too fresh in my mind.

 So shocked at how everyone is conserving trades... I thought I would be good this year because I'll have heaps, but everyone else is doing the same!

Going to use 4 trades over Rounds 6/7 though. :thumbsu:

Like the weekly score thread I think only those who are proud of their 'number' are those willing to admit it. There are plenty of people who would have used four or more trades, but like sub 2000 scores, that are apparently full of shame, very few people admit to it.

Ive used 5...

To be fair though, my 5 have netted me a total of +430k, and allowed me to do my first upgrade (was going to cop 2 donuts otherwise). Still got about 160k left, so will be trading Skip to Buddy next week.

Its a fair few trades to have used, but after next week ill only have another 5 upgrades to get to my finished squad.

Hodges, i highly doubt it has netted you 430k - rather, it has freed up 430k.

How many keepers did you have at the start, and how many do you have now?

How many rookies did you have at the start, and how many do you have now?

Kind of like Hodges, except only 3 used so far and will use one this week.

First trade was a sideways trade from Buckley ---> Birchall and that has killed me. :(

Other two have freed up 322K so I'm pretty happy with that.

Meh, it doesnt really matter either way. Once R1 lockout was in place, any cash you get is a bonus. Your just splitting hairs.

I had 13 keepers at the start and 10 rookies (including all bench players). I now have 14 keepers and 11 rookies. Im not counting Higgins/Houlihan as keepers in either of those numbers at the moment, even though I will probably still have them come seasons end. :p

3 trades - 2 wasted trades (Raines to Cheney to Rance - the last one I wouldn't have done if P.Burgoyne was playing ) and 1 'sideways' trade (Roughead - (too inconsistent) to Reiwoldt)

From now on, it's cashing in the cows and upgrading the rest to premiums.

Id be worried that I used 5 trades and only increased my keepers by one yet increased my rookies also by a further one.

What trades have you made?

In my first year last year, i burnt them all early. Got lucky with injuries.

This year I have been ripped apart from injuries and suspensions. Already used 8 and 6 of them were because of injuries/suspensions. Had to cut Bock, Stevens, Skipworth and they are just those comming to mind right now.

Bock was suspended for one week, does that mean you plan to trade anyone gone for one week?

The reason why you have two people sitting on the bench is to cover for injuries (and earn some cash), seems like you maybe scared to use these players.

Every team will run into injuries, it is how you deal with those injuries that are the key to DT.

What trades have you made?
R2: Raines out, Cheney in.
R3: Simmonds and McMahon out, Kruezer and Ellis in.
R4: Mackay out, Beams in.

Raines trade was a poor one, but I was going to be copping a zero due to injuries to Hurley and also McMahon getting dropped. Im happy with the rest of the trades - sure the Ellis one didnt pay off, but I kept onto McMahon for a week and he played like crap in the ressies, so I didnt think he would find his way back so soon.

End of the day though, I needed to make some cash. My cash cows were either injured (Hurley, Raines, Anthony, Hentschel) or average at best (Brown, Jacobs). Doing these trades netted me enough money for my first two upgrades, while setting me up for better trades later on (Beams over Mackay).

Still no trades completed. Intend to start trading next week, maybe the next.

It is sometimes hard to sit back and leave my team alone but no disasters so far so have managed to get through alright.

Did u go Zah over Beams? or im guessing u already had beams?
Already had Beams. I think Zaharakis will probably outscore Beams though. He is perfect for DT. He takes a lot of uncontested marks on a wing and uses it by foot more often than not. He also had 88% TOG on the weekend. The only worry is his job security but I think he's pretty safe for now.
