In my first year last year, i burnt them all early. Got lucky with injuries.

This year I have been ripped apart from injuries and suspensions. Already used 8 and 6 of them were because of injuries/suspensions. Had to cut Bock, Stevens, Skipworth and they are just those comming to mind right now.
Why get rid of bock?

Lol 8?

You'll have none left by round 10-15.

You didn't "have to" cut Bock, should have waited a week and assessed. Silly mistake.

Used 2 so far. Anthony to Otten, Raines to Petrenko.

Got a few issues with my team at the moment with Birchall, Masten and Skipworth all out. Leaves me very light on in terms of my bench but I cannot afford to burn early trades.

Will resist temptation to trade this week, but in all likelihood will be using 2 next week. Masten dowgrade to either Hartlett or Barham, Skippy upgrade to a fallen premium, haven't decided yet as I have plenty of time. Or I might do the opposite: Skippy down to someone like Warren if he keeps his spot in the team, Masten up to a premium midfielder. Not sure which way to go just yet but it is not urgent for this week.

Just traded Buckley. I'll be spewing if he returns and does well, but the lack of news is just disgusting. In the future I'll be avoiding any fringe players at Melbourne because there's just no interest (from supporters or media) in actually finding out what's wrong.

Used four trades now for 3 LTI and 1 non-selection. One could be considered an upgrade, but god this is a horrible start. The guys I pencilled in as injury prone have managed to stay fit so far too.

I set myself a rule at the start of the year, no sideways trades or trades for injuries of less than 4 weeks in the first half of the season. Bit of an experiment really and I'm only going for a league win so am happy to cop a couple of early losses. So no trades so far for me but I copped a zero and lost last week with Broughton, Raines and PBurgoyne all out.

This week Simmons, N Brown and Skippy have gone down as well with Hentchel also out. I'll have 2 zeros this week and will lose. Would trade Hentchel but no definite target to go to. I'm debating picking one of the forward rookies who debuted last week but have been burnt before by pulling the trigger too early on rookies after one week.

1 so far Anthony -> Beams

Will probably trade out Robinson for the best looking 2nd game mid prospect next week. Am keeping Skipworth for now as to not waste a trade, I don't have enough cash to pick up anyone decent for him, so I should be able to cover him with Ziebell and M. Brown as emergencies.

none.
i nearly did Raines -> Cheney after rd2, but thought better of it.

here's something i noticed throughout:
Skipworth began the year in 45,000 teams
right now, he is in 90,000 teams... :thumbsu: or  ???
how many will he be in after this rd

I'll admit I've made 5 trades so far:

Round 2
Jay Nash > Leigh Harding
Andrew Raines > Ricky Peterd

Round 3
Cameron Cloke > Josh Fraser
Marcus Drum > Ryan Houlihan

Round 4
Liam Anthony > Dayne Beams

Smarter picks at the start would have prevented nearly all of those bar the Anthony one, so I'll know that for next year. All have improved my team though, and I'd be in a real jam if I hadn't made any of those trades yet. Getting Fraser has been a genius move IMO, as he's done well for me the past two weeks as Captain :thumbsu:

I'm not forced to make any trades this round, but I am considering it. I think I might just sit tight though :D

I've used no trades and I'm going fine. Still averaging over 2000, my only injury has been chris knights who I've kept on to, waiting for a fallen premium, and also have raines who i think should come back round 6 and should show some form everyone expected of him :D
all in all, people should have more trust in their emergencies.. it's probly been one of the best years for rookies!

Have made 3.

Butler -> Zha, Spangler -> Harding - fixing up bad picks and getting a good cash cow
Anthony -> Beams - LTI

Hopefully that's:
- corrected my major mistakes in picking my team,
-got me one possible keeper (harding) and two cash cows who will help me get some more guns in by mid year and
- it's meant having Hardings score rather than zero's in the backs.

Have avoided trading out Raines, Hentchsell and Skippy (so far).

So far have made one more trade than planned but with Higgins Krakouer Houlihan and Rich all scoring and playing well might mean at least a couple are unplanned keepers which will mean less trades to make than planned.:thumbsu:
