How many trades?

Have faith in the squad that you selected.

Don't succumb to the temptation to "fix" your team in the first few weeks.

Leave it until after the third week when the player prices have changed.

You get what you pay for.

So wait till the 3rd week till everyone's expensive, and the more expensive players are the better they will perform. You might be able to get a player cheap in the 2nd week, but hold on till his price goes up a bit.

Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to trade McLean :( but if I trade him for someone cheaper I may take the opportunity to upgrade someone else with the money left over. I probably won't trade if he will be playing next week though. It is better to save your trades till later in the season when injuries really kick in.

That makes no sense at all. After the 3rd week is the worst time to trade.

After rounds 1 and 2 players are never more inaccurately priced.

eg. Last year i picked up Swan and MJ after round 1 and 2 who i stuck with all year.

I hope you don't trade in shares!!

People shouldn't be tempted by rookies etc who've started off well, but guys who could become full year players instead.

Trade hard early for 3-5 players in the early rounds to get your squad right (no-one gets it right before round 1), ease off through the middle of year (eg 1 every couple of rounds for injuries etc or superbargains like Symes last year) then fire up the trades again coming into and during the finals.

dont trade this week unless you have to but after round two i would invest in one or two but only if there was a steal for example if clinton young decides to play another game getting him a ton and higgins looks a lil down then ill swap the two

Last year I picked up Jobe Watson after round 1 and Dane Swan after round 2.

If you pick them up then make sure you pick the ones that continue their form...

I'm trading one this round. Main reason is coz I don't want to get in a position next week where I've realised I needed to trade three before price changes hit, and only have two trades to do it.

I'm thinking Sam Fisher for Jacobs, Birchall or Mcphee for this week's trade. Depending on next week's results I might look at getting rid of either Priddis and/or J. Corey or anyone else who needs moving out.

my initial plan was none but priddis may have to go. will give him another week. also t cloke for franklin are the only two im looking at

I'd be careful trading players on form this early. You might find yourself very low on trades at the end of the year.

Nah I'll be doing the same thing I believe. Ball scored 7 ffs. I'm gonna out him while he still carries currency. Its not like I'm jumping on the flavour of the month, Kerr is a very good player.

Trade Ball for Kerr now or wait 3 weeks and trade Ball for Priddis...

Yeah i agree. Have a look at Kerrs stats. You will find most of that score came from free kicks and massive amounts of tackles. He wont be doing that week in, week out. If your hell bent on the trade then leave it for another week.

Mate no ones expects him to keep up 200 a week for the season. I'd be happy if he averaged 100. I just think I'm better off trading Ball (at the latest next week) while he has currency. The thing to be careful of is not doing knee jerk trades after 1 week. You could jump all over Jared Brennan and then he scores 60 for the next 6 weeks, but I do not believe Kerr will be knee jerk as he is already a very good established player.

True that. I have a couple of trades in mind for next week before the price hike.

Stevens for Kerr
Griff for Lewis

Stevens put on a clinic yesterday but still only scored 101 or something similar. If i get Kerr, his price will sky rocket into the 600k mark. If he gets injured i can just trade him off for a superstar of the game.

Griff disappointed me yesterday. I was tossing up between these two originally. Ill give the Griff one more week, if he gets below my expectations and Lewis does well then there might be a trade there as well.

**Anyone got news on Cox?**

Took a punt in taking Selwood over Gibbs.

Doesn't look like to have paid off not only on scores but also on the impact they both showed in their first games.

Is the value of a trade worth swapping them over?

Neither will be in my side if I don't have injuries.

It wasn't the numbers that I liked about Kerr it was the work ethic and the way he went about it. I think he will pick up the slack from Cousins. Also Ball looks like he had pretty bad concussion which means he will probably sit out this week. If Kerr picks up 100 this week his price will skyrocket up to 500+ after round 3.
