How many weeks for Mackay?

Both players going for the ball. Mackay arrives a split second later than his opponent and bumps him. Thing is, if Mackey had been a bit quicker and hot there first the same outcome still might have occurred but no-one would be asking if he had a case to answer.

The AFL have to come to their senses are realise their side on technique will not work.

Every time a player in Clark's position with the ball bouncing away from him gets met by a player who charges in and turns sideways they get concussed.

Saw it with Selwood on Mansell. Saw it with Tarryn Thomas. Saw it with Wicks. Saw it with this one.

Clark's doing what players have always done and is tracking the ball and putting his head over it to win it.

Mackay is relying on this AFL rubbish of turning sideways being a get out of jail free card and he hammers him.

Before the slide rule one of these guys just slides through and there's no damage to the head. Ok, every now and then it will be a leg injury but the heads will be fine. And unless it's Lindsay Thomas attacking at legs on purpose it's unlikely to result in serious injuries.

The AFL have botched it and they now have 2 solutions:

1. Penalise Mackay. Say, sorry mate, you were careless even though you did what we asked. You were late and came in too quick and contesting the ball isn't a valid excuse. My guess is that's what we'll hear at the tribunal on Tuesday night. Effectively the advice will be if you aren't first to the ball you have to be extremely cautious.

2. Remove the slide rule and let players get themselves out of danger as they see fit

Clark poor technique not McKay’s. Too players are leading for their head. McKay technique has been taught for years.

Got to be a big one with the jaw broken. I jaw not broken not a lot in it

He also crouched and lifted into the bump

The AFL has made it clear punishments are based on outcomes not intent

Clark’s poor technique causes his broken jaw. He lead with head without turning his body for protection. This is a football accident as McKay had no other alternative. Therefore, no case to answer.
I’m not disagreeing with you. Just pointing out the lie that Mackay was first to the ball.
