I was at the game and didn't see it. I invite anyone who did see it to publish their account here, just like I invited anyone to do the same regarding a much famed incident involving John Greening a few years back. I like to hear actual eye-witness accounts in these cases.

If Baker actually belted Farmer and caused the injuries then he deserves to be suspended. I don't care who he hit. Farmer wasn't the Freo player copping the most abuse from me yesterday. I reserve my abuse for people who make their living on uncontested ball, and yesterday it was aimed at Peter Bell.

As for the others who have taken this opportunity to slag off my football club, you are entitled to your opinion. But if most football supporters think Nick Riewoldt is a crybaby, then most football supporters have more Wayne Carey in them than Nathan Thompson. Passion and emotion are things we should encourage in our society, especially amongst men, rather than Wayne Carey's bully-boy, kneejerk reaction to being criticised.

But considering Steven Baker got two weeks last year for unsuccessfully hitting a bloke twice his size (and four times as dangerous - ask Jason Blake), I wouldn't be surprised by anything the AFL does.

Apparently Farmer didn't see it, so he's not going to say much is he.

From memory one of the last investigations was when Scarlet king hit Reiwoldt behind play in round 1 2004. They actually had faint footage of the event, however they didn't have the actual contact in the footage, so nothing was done as far as I can remember.

I'm not sure if the process has changed since then, but if there is no footage, and Farmer can't remember anything, and their are no official wintesses, then I'm not sure how Baker can be charged.

That said the AFL have been known to make it up as they go along.

All of the t.ssers saying Farmer deserved it are low-class StKilda scum. I hate the Dockers as much as the next Eagles supported but he is mostly clean and plays the ball. He may be aggressive but does not snipe off the ball unlike Carr or Baker.

Im sure if it was Harvey or Riewoldt knocked out off the ball with blood spurting out of their noses the hypocrite little sh.ts will be crying a different story.

Back to the original post, I was at the game & while I missed the incident my mate swears Baker was sprinting towards a contest with Farmer following close behind & Baker stopped suddenly and threw his shoulder back. This collected Farmer in the face & he crumpled to the ground. My mate is a neutral supporter so i took him on his word...he even hates Baker with a passion, so I would take him at his word that it was the back of his shoulder & not an elbow or top of the arm as some have suggested.

Having said all of that I would not be surprised in the least if the AFL threw the book at Bakes, after all he's the only player to be suspended for a jumper punch that failed to connect (Greg Stafford, 2006).

I must admit that it was right up there as a highlight of the day for me... men who beat up women are the 2nd weakest animals on the planet (only after child abusers). Absolute justice that he finally got fixed up. No one has ever deserved it more.

Montagna was a very innocent party to that incident (& no one was ever charged). Farmer spends so much time at Freo Magistrates Court that he's got his own car space.

Read my post re- eye witness account...if that is a sniper effort then the game has gone softer that I thought.

I never like to see any human being injured or hurt on the field. Jeff Farmer is lacking in this department due to his disposition to hitting women. Defend him all you like...the courts convicted him.

Bakes is a tough nut on the field but a gentleman off it. White line fever maybe but Farmer has a case of white line fever when he get's out of bed. Baker has never been in any trouble off the field & has never king hit, eye gouged or done any of the real dirty things Farmer has done. Even the incident that gave bakes the bad rep (Kane Johnson in 2004) Johnson saw him coming.
