Ah yes, but Stafford is an idiot thug with a history of idiotic thugism - Roo is a Brownlow medallist and potential dual Brownlow medallist.

Intentional downgraded to reckless downgraded to negligent downgraded to intolerant downgraded to inedible downgraded to inconsequential.

See you next week Roo.

Well said binxy.
I dont think itll become a suspension.
From memory it wasnt a "look-away handball" but a "look-away backhand".

Reckless at worse, certainly didnt look intentional.

I have seen roo play the game rough for so long without crossing the line or "accidently" landing one on someone.he has lined up so many and done it fairly ,he has also gone flying past players with his elbow out in what i belive to be in a intimidating manner.I think he knew what he was doing and again knew he would probaly get off.it aint the first time but will it be the last

I can't see how the Stafford situation(s) is relevant to Roo. To me it was accidental, but who knows how the AFL will treat it on the day.

Not trying to relate the incidents as being the same but for a complete studid report it was that one and for two matches. Once you get reported anything can happen.

Apparently Didak got the extra game when he used the defence that he was only trying to help Wakelin get the fluff out of his navel. ;)

5AA just announced that Mark Ricciuto has been cleared of all charges resulting from the hawthorn game.

I believe the worst will happen today and the Roo will be charged with striking.

If so I believe he will get a couple as Stafford got 2 for punching a shirt filled with air, and Didak although a stupid act got offered one for trying to put his hand in his pocket to get his hankey out to blow his nose and his elbow just happen to hit some power players stomach.

If he does go up, how many do you think.

Me probably two but hoping for one as he will go IMO.

ALL CLEAR

Phew - that was lucky. I haven't seen it ever been mentioned on these boards, but wasn't Byron Pickett stiff to get 6. ;)

Said that at the time, and have never deviated from that.

3 to 4 was far more realistic and as the penalties since have shown even that would be right at the top end.

We would be spewing if one of our players got pinged 6 for that.

Roo was never going to get pinged for that - nothing more than incidental contact - in spite of Ch 9's efforts to hang him out to dry.

interesting that they tried to hang roo out to dry and yet the same vision had macca retaliating to the tagging on him with an elbow to the head of the hawthorn player and yet not mentioned at all - but is VERY clear in the vision.

But then again at the end of the game Dermie was adament that Craig was standing in the corner so that all the players could see him and that he was not happy - pity that the only player left in the room was Burton who was being interviewed and couldn't see the coach. I took it as the coach was waiting for his last player to enter the side room and then he would enter last. But don't the facts get in dermie's way of a good beat up.

You're right Nik...Dermie will never forgive the AFC for how they treated his little buddy Gary.....

I was taking the P*ss Mac. Looking for a bite from the Pickett crusaders.

What did he get 6 for ? A head high tackle that went slightly wrong ? You're joking ?!?!

If Ricciuto can get off for that (not complaining at all) "legitimate attempt at a shepherd, high contact accidental" then should the league award Chris Grant a retrospective 1997 Brownlow "legitimate attempt at a spoil, high contact accidental"?

To be honest at the time i thought Macca had more to worry about than Roo. :(

But alls well that ends well. :)
