How much is a Grand Final worth?

I was just wondering how much do you guys reckon a Grand Final is worth in terms of sponsorship, membership, support and merchandise? Particularly for smaller clubs with smaller supporter and membership bases. For a successful, powerful team with a large supporter base like Essendon I guess winning the premiership will help in bringing in more royalties and support as a result. But for a team like Melbourne with a smaller supporter base, the money that could be generated by them winning the Grand Final could be a real boost for the club.
When Adelaide won the flag in '97 and '98 it seemed to of been a huge financial bonus for the club but unfortunately for the Roos winning the flag in '96 and '99 hasn't seemed to of been a huge financial bonus.

Well, it helps with membership numbers obviously. Sponsers will be willing to pay more. Already, Essendons new sponser for 2001, "Orange", is paying $500,000 more per season than the previous sponser, "Speed kills".

That is a spin-off from a successful year in 2000.

You also get prizemoney of about $100,000 aprox)if you win the Grand Final.

A lot of the spin-offs can't be quanitified, but it is worth at least a couple of hundred thousand dollars.

dan im led to believe its worth more in the area of one to two million dollars
with merchandise, prize money, sponsership etc all to be considered

Essendon (2000) and Hawthorn (1999) reported 7,000 extra members because of the ansett cup victory so with the 125,000 prize money the ansett cup could be worth $750,000g
