I have been watching the 'braithwaites' on TV who seem to have a problem with having won 38 Million Pounds.

So my question is:

How much (or how little) would you need to win to make a difference to your life ?

An amount which would make you comfortable and secure, set your kids on the right track and cover your retirement.

For me if I paid off our $200 grand mortgage my salary would then be enough to fund all the other things. But $100 or $50 would make a real difference.

The reason I am asking is I think if a Lottery abandoned huge prizes and concentrated on prizes in this range, but with people much more likely to win, then they might be more popular (and relevant to ordinary people)

By the way I don't do the lottery

Pess...

gee....if $50 bucks will make a big difference send me your address I will send it over...glad to be able to assist.

But seriously....

yep...give me enough to pay off the mortgage, and enough aside to pay for some of the bigger expenses then I am sure I could find a nice relaxing job which pays enough to feed to kids.

$300,000 would do nicely.

ptw

I think enough to wipe out the debts will do nicely as well! That way I could work for the fun of it rather than being obligated!

BTW, I never do the lotteries either. I think of it as a tax on people who are bad at maths!

A million for me, so I can buy a house with 5 acres in the Dandenongs, a porsche, boat & a motorbike.

I value the pleasure of just being happy and having good friends. You can stick money up your ass,it destroy's people, changes people,
Im not materialistic sure there a heaps of things i'd love to have but i aint gonna cry about it.And i certainly dont judge a persons character according to his non wealth. Not like all the other ever increasing pretencious plastic pricks in this world.sorry i kinda got on my matchbox again,im outa here.

Joffa is right its better to be happy than rich. We all know money can't buy happiness. Plus it doesn't matter how much money you have, whether your rich or poor you always want more.

No thuck it i will get on my matchbox,i have a problem with millionaires of this world, with their 2 storey mansions and 3 expensive cars and all that crap.Whilst there are so many people starving, homeless and in need.To me its criminal and its socially unjust.I hate all symbols of wealth
i detest those who seem to think that because of there wealth they are better than me.Usually they have acumulated their massive riches through scams at the expense of the poor.Greed and wealth has become the cancer that has destroyed our society.I go back to the biblical tale when jesus stormed into the market place and basically told them all to get rooted.yay go jesus!!!!
Id sooner sit in the gutter with a real person than associate with a snob who generally would not know shit from clay.
If any one finds what i have just said offensive dont bother typing a reply cause i could not give one flying crap!!!

lesee, The house is ours with no mortgage to pay. So if I had enough to do some travelling that would be cool. Yes pessimistic I would play lotto if there was a more realistic chance of winning a smaller prize.
