B&F isnt flawed to extent that person that wins it should be further back. Fact that he has only won one i think shows where he is at. but in order to take him out, u need someone to replace him and there is a reason why coaches havent. rest are not that good. but thats not priddis' fault.

noone is saying anyone should hold hands. but best and only way to really do it is via draft. draft better players in. trading for sake of trading in HOPE that you will hit a superstar isnt really playing to your odds. we just have to wait, just like other clubs, to turn our list over several years as better players come in. but in mean time, priddis is best we have.

The majority of folk ARE below average or "stupid" From memory the point I was responding to was "the majority of fans support x" - I've never been much of one for the majority view always being the best or most sensible option. As has been the case for 7 years and look at what we have to show for it regarding our midfield. Widely considered the worst in the comp.

My theory allows me to predict that Priddis will not be tagged by Buckley...he will be lucky if anyone is within 10m of him most of the game. He will get plenty of the ball...nothing will be done by Buckley...at the end of the game Buckley will say "damn that curly haired guy had it 30 times he deserves to be their BOG".
I have to say my theory is geared towards us and our penchant for losing over the way but given we could win this it will make for some interesting watching.

There was a tag on Shuey from the beginning of the game. As he said in the presser at different stages they tried to tag various players - he named Shuey, Priddis, Gaff and Hurn ...

He said there were spot fires and you try and stop one and the other gets away etc . ..

I agree with all that. But Shuey was the only guy who had a tag on him throughout the game. One only had to watch the game to see that ...

There were times particularly when Shuey was off or forward that they tightened up on Priddis but as Porter correctly reported in the Adelaide paper, Priddis & Thompson generally had each other and both played wide of each other and didn't defend much ...

That lines up with what anyone watching would have seen ...

A thrown away line in a presser referring to trying to tag players "at times" is hardly indicative of Matt being "tagged" in the sense Shuey was ...

How have i not made the connection? It was all about answering the question of whether opposition coaches rated him. And have concluded that obviously they don't, because he gets to run around on his own week in week out. I'm not so sure i'd dub it a conspiracy, but it doesn't exactly make sense. The media obsession regarding Matt also doesn't make any sense, as we've discussed time and time again.

Saying he can't be tagged effectively is reaching. He CAN be tagged, there is just no point. He still manages to get the ball yes, only his turnover rate will be through the roof again as he is forced to snap kick his way to 30 touches. I think i'd much prefer that to be the case and have Shuey free to play as the damaging midfielder but unfortunately for us, opposition coaches don't deem him important enough. So Shuey gets it. And before him was Kerr. Hell, even Masten has copped it ahead of Priddis on occasion.

Matt has elite reflexes and is exceptional at releasing a handball under heavy pressure so you saying he'd be forced to kick more if tagged is rubbish. He'd regularly hit a free Shuey or Gaff who would be loving the service and lack of attention.

We talked about Supercoach and Matt last week remember? CD seems to give Matt a free reign when it comes to his turnovers and general kicking efficiency. I do agree with SC in the fact it has been his best year, but he gets a free pass i've noticed. For someone who is constantly so shocking with his disposal, surprisingly his DT isn't all that far from his SC at the end of the game. Other players, SC is very harsh and punishes them for DE%

His disposal just isn't as bad as you make out, and CD value the things he does well highly. The reason for that is that they use some seriously advanced statistical analysis to determine which stats are the most valuable towards a team winning the game and are constantly refining their scoring system. Matt just does a lot of valuable things well.

Also when Matt kicks to a 50/50 contest we tend to lose that contest because our other players largely suck at contests.

Regardless, you really think he belongs in the top 10 echelon that is those AFLCA votes? Take off your stupid sponsor hat and tell me honestly if you really believe he is in the calibre of Dangerfield, Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyfe etc etc
