As much as I had to...I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I didn't go and Hawthorn got up and won...plus you never know the next time you will make it, so just getting there and enjoying the day is an experience that no amount of money can buy.

Well I have just paid $1,650 for mine, but that does include airfares & 3 nights accomodation, so I don't actually know what the GF ticket cost me.:D

I said $500. It all depends, however, on how much money you make. Some of us, might not be able to afford to spend over $1000, but that doesn't mean we aren't fanatics, who will do anything (or nearly anything, ay Spidergirl;) ) to go to the game.

Someone who makes $250,000 a year could quite easily spend $5000 on a GF ticket, and it wouldn't affect their financial status one bit.

I am not sure what I would pay, as I havent been lucky enough to have my team in the grand final. However, I would most probably pay about 1000.00, which doesnt come all that easy. I would only pay that much as I may not get to see another in my lifetime.

I would say around $500. Last year I was about to pay that much just in case I couldn't get a Grand Final ticket through the normal means. Luckly I was able to get one and pay face value.

I have already paid a scalper about $2000 to get a GF ticket, and he didn't come through. Name of Wayne Jackson, took my money for years as a Restricted AFL member, basically for the privilege of going to games I could have just paid my Carlton membership for.

Then, the year that I turned full member, he changed the rules so it wasn't an automatic thing.

If Hawthorn was there, anything...

I couldn't live with myself if we won, and I wasn't there, and the prospect that you might never play in another in your lifetime...just scares me...so I say anything.

People shouldn't say they would pay "anything" as a scalper could take advantage of you by offering the tickets at a higher price then he normally would have, e.g. $1500 instead of $600

Saying that the scalper is already taking advantage of you anyway because tickets are scarce and sellers are selling above face value.

Lucky there are a few others in here willing to pay a good price for the ticket then.

Would pay a lot of money to see the distraught look on your face when Essendon don't make it.

The only question I have is would you still come over for the holiday?????

Of course I will still go, if the Bombers make the GF it is a bonus.

When you live in Perth you have to plan ahead, otherwise you miss out.

Prices usually drop dramatically in the last few minutes before the game starts, I think. If you don't mind missing the pre-match entertainment (which is all bollocks anyway) you could probably snap one up for not much over face value. Even if you miss the first 10 minutes or so, it's probably better than paying a thousand bucks or more to some profiteering scumbag.

Does anyone know if you can get in free at 3-quarter time like you can for an ordinary game?
