Already with our stuctures and competitiveness we are on the improve, our fringe boys are actually having a more positive impact and our young guys are emerging, look what a run of consistant weeks of football has done for Cotchin, he's 6th in the comp for clearances. Martin's 22nd, for a first year player:D that's amazing!

As you might have heard Riewoldt's number 1 for Goals. Jackson's second on averages for inside 50's just behind Chapman. Graham is averaging 7 more hitouts than Simmonds for the year, another example of a young guy finding his feet. Connors from his 4 games is 11th for rebounds from defensive 50.

Tuck and Foley both sit on just over 13 contested possesions a game 10th and 11th in the comp respectively, Foley's played only 4 games but has been missed, meanwhile he's been well covered by Cotchin with an average of 11 a game. Amazingly we have 5 players in the top 27 for average contested possesions in the comp. Melbournes first is Brett Maloney at 28th, and St.kilda also has one, Lenny Hayes at equal 22nd .1 % ahead of Martin. Our work rate hasn't been this good since the mid 90's.

The one area we need to work on is our uncontested possesions, we need more outside run as Hardwick has mentioned. Deledio is the only player in the top 50, he sits at 45th averaging 17 a game. Tambling, White, and Collins should be providing this, but aren't at any where near the required level.

So as you can see we have a group of developing players that are fast becomming the best at what they do, when we add to this talent and develop our recent draftees we'll have quality over the field that can match it with anyone. Our team ethos is having a huge impact on our quality players and rubbing off on the fringe.

Where did you get these stats from?

Would be interesting to know tambling and Deledios stats last year for contested and uncontested touches . As deledio had the most contested possies per game in the 2nd half of the year.

Other than Martin and Nason surprising every one our improvement this year was always going to come from the main group and the guys Wallace never gave the time of day like Conners etc

We do have 2 ready to go outside mids in Tambling and Collins the only thing is Tambling is playing like he's got his mothers ironing board up his arse and Andy believes he is an inside mid because that is what he had to do last year to get a kick. Newman is another .

All will settle down in time and after another ten weeks of steady football and a big pre season our backline will settle down as the Goo is sure to be given a go and recruiting will take care of the rest.

Who ever stays on the list out of Thursty , Moore and McGuane will all improve over the summer and our back line will improve a lot.

I'd like to see Post played on the wing in an Andrew Embley type roll in the future. He ran the lines beautifully against Freo in the NAB Cup last year on debut. He could be another outside player we are looking for.

Here you go, this is a good place to start.

You dont get them all unless you want to pay. But its still a great site. I would love unlimited access to Champion Data stats the clubs get, but apparently that costs a small fortune.
