His courage has been outstanding this season... and he deserves another year."

ODNs: "I too disagree with Mansfield being a hack in 2002. He was a dud in 2000 and looked that way early on in 2001 but showed some of his best form as the season progressed. He loves being at Carlton and I think he could have a good year. "

Blue Blood: "i thought you was way off about was Mansfield,he has had a good year."

Loz: "i think you are very harsh with Mansfield. He is not a hack but a quality player that can still contribute off the bench in a pinch hitting role"

How views can change so quickly. Man, do I feel like an idiot now.

Well at least that highlights how unexpected things have been. The second half of 2001 save Mansfield but nothing will save him now. Is he sabotaging us? Is the MC sabotaging us by selecting him and playing him on dangerous opponents for too long?

Michael Mansfield
Was such an outstanding player at Geelong that he was an automatic selection for the All Australian & State sides. Arrived at Princes Park unexpectedly and was naturally looked upon to be an important player in defence. Spent two years in the wilderness earning the wrath of nearly all supporters and calling for his head on a platter was nearly a weekly event. However, he did turn the corner last year and was a significant contributor all over the ground as he finally came to grips with a different game plan & a foreign role within the team. However, does spray his disposal and seems to deliver it laces up to the opposition with regular monotony. Is in the absolute twilight of his career and must play every game as if it is his last as one of them will soon be !!

Wow, well I remember probably 2 years ago on here, I was saying that we should trade Fevola for what we can get because of his attitude issues, I now think he will be fine, GOD aka Judd will keep him in check this year I can see it. I am very glad we kept him.
