Cant believe how easily people are happy toss out quality player
Graham was chased by 3 clubs last time he was out of contract and the RFC were extremely happy to keep him and he was offered very good coin

Yet we are looking at him as steak knives
He will have alot of suitors when he is a free agent and will most likely get a big offer that we cant match next year

FA next year?

Wow, time flies

His first year was 2017 so next year is year seven

We all seem to have forgotten what we did to become so good in 2017, and how we then kept the standard, indeed improved upon it, to be such a dominant and successful force that changed how teams now play the game. Richmond discovered how to utilise better than anyone ever had, role players, the bottom six to eight of the 22(23), and how they would be the difference. Haven’t we enjoyed humiliating teams of champions (yes you, Geelong) with our champion team.

But it was NOT statistics that did it. Blokes like Graham stood fast against the tide of massive stats teams tried to inflict on us, only to turn this to our advantage. It was no coincidence that Dusty and Cotch became the true champs we have seen once they stopped pumping up the stats sheet with easy touches out the back Footscray style, to become the forward moving phenomenon of the 2017 - 2020 we were. It is no surprise, when you understand how Richmond actually beat the opposition so consistently, that you never see Tigers high on stats based “ SuperCoach” rankings, Champion Data tables and ABC style journo awards. Footy scribes who base votes and match reports on stat sheets (that is most of them) always undervalue Richmond players, much like some in this forum are doing now. So let’s dispense with the easy stat analysis. Under value Jack Graham at your peril because he will be one loss that would come back to bight us on the backside the minute we naively let him go just because he gets lower stats than some other muppets. Never forget the insane effort he went to to roll Geelong in 2019 Prelim. Without his unfathomable courage and pain tolerance we would still be lamenting the one that got away. The Richmond way needs Graham. The pressure on the first possession in contests results in less than effective delivery up-field, allowing us to intercept away from the congestion and initiate the chain of possession seen in the wave of movement that overwhelms other sides. It as truly breathtaking to witness and totally relies on Jack Graham types smashing the opposition in contests.

Oppo supporters and most of the 'experts' don't seem to realise how good the rest of the Tigers are given how shallow our midfield was in 2022. we were #1 for scoring, 4th best % and our midfield was often smashed. That meant our defense often was under huge pressure all game.

Change the midfield to a winning one and the rest of the team should perform even better. Or maybe the team is so used to losing the midfield we'll play like crap o_O.

When we win the midfield battle we win the game. Looking forward to 2023

Sort our midfield & fix our defensive structure & we'll be right in the mix next yr. TT & JH the 1st part is done, grab Rutten as defensive Coach & that's part 2 done.

JG had an outstanding start to his career. Combined with heroic efforts in the prelim in 2019 make him a legend. How to read the teams performance in 2022? Losing so many close games is my big concern. The team has been too slow to adjust to the stand rule and now the 50m penalties. Eliminate them maybe we win close games. Whatever elite pressure stats JG produces we lose a lot of close games barely made the 8.
The only best 22 retiree this year was Edwards. So thinking about out last game.. OUTs were Graham, Dusty and Grimes. Those are great INs but Grimes and Dusty a year older.

After Prestia got injured we needed another good mid to rove Nank's ruck work. Dusty was a gamble that lost. JG is not that sort of mid. Is Tarranto or Hopper?
Even with one of Tarranto and Hopper, maybe we have to get bigger, unassailable leads in games. Cos we can't win close games.

Ross, Graham, Sonz, MRJ Cumberland, KMac, Short, Pickett, going to get squeezed out of the middle and the fwd line.

Richmond PRAYING on these clubs and their salary cap issues

Yet Geelong got Cameron from ??? Oh yep that is right....
The Cats will now plan their next move and are still keen on GWS teammate Tanner Bruhn, unwilling to significantly up their offer given they pay players in fairly strict bands to ensure fairness across the list.

So the cats next move is for a player from ??? oh yep, GWS.

Crazy reporting LOL

Spot on. Can’t afford to get over powered in the middle like we did. We coughed ion so many match winning leads this year. Sickening stuff.

need to give new recruits 200k extra a year to make up for the umpire reaming we cop

should be in their contract

How could you possibly consider a 6666 to 1 shot run of free kick count losses under Mini to be a reaming Groupie? At's looxoory a' is. Aye. We are spoilt only having a six thousand six hundred and sixty six to one shot run of outs under Mini. It could have been so much worse Groupie.

So much worse.
