Can't they afford to buy new uniforms for their referees?

For tonights Storm - Eagles clash, the referees had these huge black patches on both the front and back of their shirts, covering up where the sponsors logo should have been.

Looked terrible!

I was so enthralled with the game, did not even notice.

I think the afl had a similar problem too a few years ago with players numbers, or something that kept coming off on their jerseys. Just seem to recall something, if anyone wants to fill me in.

Its not the first time its happened.

It was announced during the week that they lost FAI the major sponsor of the refs.. Those guys were paying $1.5 million for a 3 year contract

They will change em next week probably
