I read somewhere that Centrebet is paying $2.60 for Gary to stay at Geelong. I understand that the opportunity cost for Gary to stay at Geelong is around $500 000 per year, over 5 years that’s $2.5 mil. So here’s the plan…

We raise $1mil from BF and other concerned citizens (we might need uncle Frank to help out here), and lay it on Gary to stay. Gary of course is aware of the plan and signs on with Geelong. Centrebet pays out $2.6 mil. $2.5 mil goes to Gary so he is no longer out of pocket to stay at Geelong, $100 000 is returned to ‘the investors’ (a 10% return – not bad for a weeks outlay), everyone is happy!

What could possibly go wrong??:p

LoL not bad, not bad but the math is wrong. I wonder if there's any more news on the Cotton On guy.. ?

Also someone started a thread about paying Ablett the big contract at Geelong but most of the money will be back ended. That was the best idea so far. I can't be stuffed sifting through the threads right now.

I read a similar suggestion this week on the commuter paper freebie. lol That wasn't you by any chance? I wonder if GAJ would be allowed (or someone close to him) to bet on that. lol

so the sporting agencies are so dumb that they would not notice a plunge on a player
they would not react after the first 10k, they would not change their odds

lol

anyway, i think costa should just bring in the mafia story over, you stay or you die

That was actually my idea. I wrote the thread suggesting that. I thought I would tell you, to check out, and save you sifting through heaps of threads, if you knew what my username was.

BTW, I'm glad you liked my idea. I hope Geelong implement it.

I'm tipping Ablett will stay, by the way. I just think that his ties to the club he has followed all his life, and which his father played for, along with premiership success, and playing with his mates, will be too hard to walk away from, in the end. I hope I am right.

But I fear that in the future you will be proved wrong.
