I don't enjoy the cardio work required to lose weight first. I like weight training and I feel if I am eating ~1800-2000 cals a day and lifting, then I should naturally lose weight anyway (CICO etc)
This is where i get so much varying information. If i get stronger, fitter without looking any better, then so be it
The easiest calories you burn are the ones you don’t eat. You don’t need to do cardio to lose weight just create a calorie deficit.
When weight loss stalls, add in some cardio so you don’t have to drop the calories as much.
If you are overweight and relatively new to resistance training you will burn fat and gain some muscle. The focus needs to be to drop bodyfat first, it will be easier to build lean muscle when you are leaner.
