Alright Pplz.... Need some help ok. :)

Two Problems Faced.....

1) I have not got my learners permit yet and was hoping to go for it when im in Sydney in November... How do I go about conning the rta that im a nsw resident LOL.

I do have a nsw bank account. That Could Help.

2) Lionheart also needs a way to con the rta into giving her, her P's coz she is now 17 and on a victorian L's license at the moment. So she has to work out how to trick them into sayin she lives in NSW and then try orgainse a Provisional License test.

Any Help Is Great :)

Why don't you just take the test where you live? Just a suggestion. You're usually required to have the right licence for the state you're in anyway.
If my assumption is correct, this is an age thing. The age restrictions for obtaining your licence is different in each state.

I grew up in SA and had my P Plates when I was 16.

What is the age in Vic and NSW?

18 in Vic, and 17 in NSW i think, BluesBrat.

Mags,

You probably need to be a resident there.

If that bank statement under your name has a NSW address on it, you're fine.

If it doesn't .... find some documentation that does, even if it's a couple of years old (from when you were living there).

As for Lionheart ... unless she has a relative in NSW that can vouch for her and say that she's living there (and maybe swap a bill to Lionheart's name), no chance. I tried every way possible to get my P's early, mate ... they're strict ****s. :p

And BTW -- Even if you guys do manage it, there might be some rules/fines if you get pulled over in Vic but have an interstate license. Probably not worth the hassle, when you think about it.

Good Luck anyway... the very thought of either of you on the same road as me scares the shlt out of me ..... but good luck. ;)

huh??

If you have a license you have a license. It makes no difference if your caught driving in Darwin or NYC!

Actually - usually you get a better deal if you are caught outside your state. For example, I got my license in qld coz when I was 17 I wanted my license. I have been pulled up in Vic numerous times - but everytime I just act confused and say in qld the rules are a little different blah blah. They just warn you, and let you go.

Technically - you must abide by the rules set out by your license. When I was on my L's, I was driving in Vic but wasnt showing any L-plates. Once I got pulled over - they couldnt do anything because in qld it is optional to display L or P plates!

In Greece I got pulled over - the guy could hardly speak english and just let me go. he couldnt be bothered with me.

In the USA they are cool with Aussies. All they ever did was take my license, go show their partner and have a laugh at an "aussie license" then me go.

I cant get over Victoria - 18 to bloody drive! Is that like the oldest int he world? I cant think of anywhere where you need to be 18 to drive! Its the oldest in Australia - everywhere I know actually.

Its 18 in France at the moment I'm pretty sure, unless they changed it in the last year

So if I'm on P's in Australia, i'll still get away with it in a country like France even if i'm not 18 yet?

Smokin,

"If you have been a resident of Victoria for three or more months and are not a member of the Australian Defence Forces, then you must get a Victorian licence, as you are no longer allowed to drive on your interstate or New Zealand licence. "

"You may drive for the first three months from your arrival on your interstate licence, but you must comply with any conditions on your licence as well as all Victorian rules. After three months, if you wish to continue to drive, you must obtain a Victorian licence."

"The minimum licensing age in Victoria is 18. You cannot be issued with a Victorian licence until you turn 18 even if you hold an interstate or New Zealand licence. "

Courtesy of VicRoads

So sure, you can 'act' dumb and confused like you have, but the copper can still be a real tightarse and find something to book ya on. You could probably get away with it, saying that you're visiting just for the weekend -- unless they do somekind of check on whether the Victorian registered car is under your name (and listed under a Victorian address).

BTW: Do you understand the meaning of "there might be" ? i.e. Do you understand words?
