I agree with you, but not in this case :)

You don't honestly think I could have meant that the attitude of posters would affect the team, do you?

*resists temptation to use rollseyes emoticon*

This is big footy. I can twist what you said any way i want if it help me argue my case. It's the norm.

In this case though i am just pulling your leg, so don't get offended. ;)

Back on topic, i think it will be a close game on the weekend. Can't really pick a winner confidently though. Cats have a lot riding on this game, as do the Eagles as it will be there last game in Vic, unless we are there on the last week of September, and we would like to prove again that we can win over there after that poor game against the dogs.
On the other hand, we have to look at the bigger picture. We have some injury concerns and no doubt have to manage our list as best as possible so we can get the best team on the park come September.

This is the best advice that i can give you at the moment get a bloody decent coach Bomber is arogant , foolish , brainless and has no game plan from what I see kick and hope that your guys can mark the footy.

The other thing on your theory to having no stand out forwards , why would we when we have the most goal kickers in a game in the AFL for memory we had 14 last week stop that.

Instead of attacking the opposition, why dont you say something worthwhile?

Besides, having many goalkickers and no dominant ones can be just as much of a hindrance as having 1 or 2 main goalkickers. It depends on the strengths of the two teams on gameday and who is winning the positions.

From behind ... of course.

I was about to say that.

From a neutral point of view, I think this game will be fairly tight. If the Eagles get their run going early it could get ugly but if the Cats can stay close I would back them in a fast finish.
BTW the WCE supporter who said that Lynch is a good contested mark is silly.
He’s the worst FF in the AFL. Yes I know he has taken some good contested marks, but seriously in a game with a midfield that force feeds him he could take 15 marks but drops about 10.

I think the main hinderance of having your midfield kicking all of your goals is that it is easier for the opposition midfield to just man up than it is to stop a Brown, Riewolt, Gherig, Lloyd, Richo, Tredrea etc. In order for mdfielders to kick goals, they need plenty of space due to the fact that 99% of the time they kick it on the run, stop the space, stop the goals.

Um, I could just let that one go through to the keeper as a self evidently unbelievably stupid statement, but okay, whatever you say- its silly to call him a good contested mark just because he has taken some good contested marks? Idiot.

Lynch has some very big weaknesses in his game- he doesn't read the play well, he struggles to present enough to do his job, and he's by no means a sure thing on the lead, but he's a good contested mark.

Exactly.

Although they are pretty reliable and closing down the space is tough, it does not mean our attack is more potent

Space, may have not been the best term, probably pressure. It's a lot harder to kick a goal when someone is right on your hammer. This is why I think teams who rely on goals from their midfield are harder to shut down, and historically why premiership teams always have at least one dominant forward or mercurial freak.

How will we beat the Eagles?? I'll go with a whole lot of rain (to bring the overall skill standard down).. and a whole lotta luck... And could we all please lay off King and give him a break? He's obviously being rushed back into the side.. dont expect a whole lot from him (or Harls, or Chappy)
